Keen to live a healthly lifestyle and save money0 -
Hi Fizz - welcome to the Frugalistas. I suppose this is a bit like going to an AA meeting and standing up and letting everyone know your situation. You'll get loads of tips on here, and I've learnt so many recipes and things in just a few weeks.
Some people have saved more than others, but it's not a competition, just personal achievement, and everyone has made some savings.

I know we've got a lot of Craft Folk on this board. Someone's just posted on HDUK that they've got a sale at Hobbycraft and they've got £100 worth of stuff for £3.50! HTH someone.
xx
PS - Just re-read it, and it was £40 worth of stuff for £3.50, and they said "it was a lot cheaper in store, than online".0 -

Fizz - meant to say, welcome to the gang!
I'm getting there (slowly).
Having just reworked my budgets have just discovered that my seamingly enormous groceries bill is actually mainly made up of other things (pet food/litter, cleaning & toiletries stuff) - as it's mostly bought at the supermarket had just lumped it all together. This has really focussed my mind on what I'm actually buying where & when.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

They let me take my top and dress home ON APPROVAL. I didn't know what she was talking about to begin with, but they let me bring them home to try them on and take back if I don't like it or it doesn't fit (even though they have changing rooms!!!!). I was amazed.
I "bought" a top that was £35 down to £10, and a dress that was £139.95 down to £10. I did feel a bit guilty as I wanted to put the dress on ebay as I thought it was an absolute bargain. They are fantastic quality so feel really happy with these.
Have a good weekend frugalists.
What a fabulous place miss empty piggy, wouldn't it be lovely if the world was like that all the time...flying_fresian wrote: »Just checked my Quidco account out of habit more than hope and the £75 cashback I'm due from NPower has changed to Received which should mean it will be paid this month :j February has been a really good month for extra income
:T Well done flying_fresian. Things like that really do spur us on don't they?enjoyfinancialchallenges wrote: »Hi everyone, hearing some of you talking about car booting has really excited me, I can't wait to get back onto the field again. Some of you may remember I make and sell scones, biscuits, shortbread and variations of. This year because I made so much jam in the Autumn which I rarely eat by the way, I'm going to try and sell them and make some lemon curd as well.
By the way grandma the idea of posting my message and then editing it was a fab idea for me it saves me loosing the massage, am using it now, thanks a lot.
That is a brilliant idea enjoyfinancialchallenges. Homemade things always look so much more tempting. I bet you do really well. The jam idea sounds really good tooI've also lost posts especially if its a long one and I've forgotton to click on the 'remember me' button when I log in, so before I press reply I always highlight my post and press copy, that way I can then just click paste when I log back in, thanks to DS for this tip
:hello: Can I say a big hello too to our new 'frugalistas' fizz and jade86123
And huge hugs to everyone who is having a bit of a rotten time at the moment...23rdspiral and itsallinthemind especially.
And cups of tea/coffee for all...:coffee:
Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening. I spent some of last night cleaning my oven and having a bit of a kitchen tidy up...so today OH and I had a drive out and tea out too. Just nice to spend some time together 'cos during the week we are like ships that pass in the night, working opposite times of the day.
Was looking up 'decluttering' on the net, even though I have a few of these books and have a read now and then on the declutter thread on here, but anyway I found this site link here-zenhabitsand it did put a few things into perspective for me and kind of links into what we're doing on here, peace of mind etc. If you scroll down to the bottom on the site there are other titles to look through as well.
Off to bed soon with my hot water bottle and book.
Sleep well everyone...onwards and upwards tomorrow
Luv Dizzy x
