SandraScarlett wrote: »Erne , I'm glad you're enjoying Little Women. My Mum was Mrs March in a school play about 90 years ago, and this was the first book she read to me. The next one in the series is Good Wives and then Jo's Boys, and lastly (I think) Little Men.
You've sent me zooming back about 60 years in time, and I'm glad you're enjoying the antics of Meg, Beth, Jo and Amy, and Laurie........... I had a crush on him!
Happy Reading

I read your post on outdoor toilets a few posts ago and remember them well, like you I didn't go outside until I was desperate but I did love the wooden seat which my Mum used to scrub daily/weekly I can't remember how often but it seemed to be the best part of the visit cause nothing else was. Did you have the 'night soil cart' come and collect the contents though, we did on a weeky basis which was OK in the wnter but not so good in the summer.:(
Reading your last post really stirred my memory up also, I think perhaps you and I are of similar ages. I loved Lousia M Alcott also, my favourite being Jo's Boys and I named my second daughter Joanne just because I liked it and I think it was one of the only few names that her Dad and I agreed on, she insists now on shortening it to Jo but then she is 40 so can call herself what she wants to...AND...she has three boys. Jo's Boys. Funnily though I hadn't even thought Of Lousia M for years and years.
Got to go to bed now I can hear it calling me. I've just driven up the M11 and I'm ready to sleep now. Oh, and my grand daughter was delighted about me baking her more biscuits she loves them more than her brothers, I hope I don't get blamed when she is a teenager for her weight or spots.
Hugs for everyone who needs one and you can have one also even if you just want one, Iv'e get plenty to spare.Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

I've tried these before, and some have worked very well. You do need to remember that you need to have the containers ready to take the plants as they get older, and don't be tempted to start them off too early, as they just grow lanky, and are damaged when moved to another container or outside to the ground.o
Yes I bought £shop seeds and they were fine, there were a couple of naff odd seeds- but you get quite a lot in the little sachets, I still have some left for this year in a tin, peppers, aubergine, cress, etc
Only bought "proper" seeds for quite random things like creeping squash that i didnt get in £land/ wilkinsons.
Thanks for this as i'm currently "living with mum" who has a veggie plot planting shouldn't be a problem & looking around I think we have enough containers to start things off lucky for me mum has some knowledge of these things so she will keep me on track ( I hope ) with when to plant thingsEmma :hello:0 -

Thanks for all the lovely comments and like thanks Sandra etc for the stuff about Little women :T....
Don't know exactly what I did yesterday but like was very tired and crashed about 8pm (not even reading in bed..have a fab clip on bedlight from amazon by duragadget that's supposed to be for the K but works on almost everything) and was up at some ungodly hour
Supposed to be going down veg garden yesterday (spent 1/2 of yesterday pm trying to get monies reimbursed to no avail) but TD is not going and TBH there's more than enough to do round here....
Noticed Mr LL had pitta bread for I think 39p yesterday...got some ....doesn't do any harm to have a change in lunches....
Thanks for the tips on the £shop seeds Emma...yeah much appreciated:)
Trying to clean the mountain that is the coffee side in the kitchen right now - the floor below it looks even worse. It's kind of really not happening..
and it's sooo cold
Also I unblocked the toilet the other day with bicarb and vinegar...okay it was only a half block (water was going down but slowly) but about 3 flushes later and it was fine

ok so i need to catch up properly!! been having a catch up on our money too - not been on the ball last few days. But i have worked out thats this will be the first month that i dont have to worry about finding money just to cover our bills!!! and i am now trying to work out some consolidation wihich wil help us budget better and have a better monthly outcome - think i may be able to get rid of 6 agreements etc - will pay a bit off each too but the rest will be consolidation but only one payment etc! i am in no way promoting it etc but by doing this we should actually be able to keep much better track of money and pay it off quicker! its interest free for 17months - and am working out a plan aiming to pay it all by 17months. I have managed to pay £100 off one card when its usually £25 and am about to write the letters to close a few accounts and agreements!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0

Well it's been an expensive month and not quite over yet as pay day isn't until Monday. January is officially very painful! We've gone slightly over on the grocery budget for the month by 18.24 but the freezer is completely full. We have all the food we need for the weekend and I still have two jars of January's homemade marmalade that haven't been started and more seville oranges that I need to find some space for in the freezer. We are having smoked coley for tea (I love Mr M) and it was half the price of the usual smoked haddock - really simple dish just potato, onion, smoked fish, water and black pepper for a most delicious tea. I'll probably make a crumble with my whoopsied plums for afters.Sealed pot member 735

hi, i'm just popping in to change my sig - fri was a NSD !! it nearly wasnt - i was about to buy a fashion scarf in primark but realised reaching my NSD target would be hard, so put it back. if i still REALLY WANT IT next week on food shopping day, i'll go get it.
so i'll see if it was a true desire or simply an impulse! i'm quite proud of myself for that decision.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

I've found myself doing exactly the same thing in the last couple of years - and a couple of times I've gone back having decided it was a 'need' (or could be justified) only to find said item was sold out but I wasn't even disappointed..... so even then I don't think it can have been a true needCheryl0 -
Help! I seem to have lost my thanks button and the balloony one Anyone know how can I get them back ?Keep to £400 a month on C/C.
