Helloooo
ERME - so glad your feeling much better, it cant be easy for you at times.
Was just wondering about the petrol vouchers, how do you claim these? Or do you mean the money you get back in points from using say your nec!ar card?
Well i did what i said i wasnt going to do and visited MR S, only spent £9 something, so not bad, but dont seem to have got much for thatpotatoes, oatcakes, choc oatcakes, yog raisins, toilet roll and kitchen roll, oh and carrots. Does that sound alot for those items? I did buy value toilet paper and kitchen roll, i personally dont see the point in spending anything but the bare minimum on something that ends up down the loo:rotfl:
Making fishcakes for tea with potatoes, salmon, cod and mayo with some swede mashed in and then rolled in bread crumbs made from stale bread. Will prob serve with the carrots i bought. My kids love them.
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -

Mr M's give you points on a card, it's equivalent to saving 1.5p per litre, on the fuel price... when you've amassed 5000 points, they give you a £5 shopping voucher. The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
Thanks for the info Midwinter, unfortunately the nearest Mr M to us is 25 minutes away
, although apparently they are going to be building one near my local MR S and MR L, i hope they do so i can take advantage of this great scheme.

I'm aiming for a grand, so wish me luck :T
Much luck to you Laushappy.:jenjoyfinancialchallenges wrote: »Somebody earlier was saying they keep all bits of left over food, freeze it and share out later. When I had a husband and my four children at home I used to serve up an extra plate full of food, cover it and freeze then if somebody was in a rush and needed to eat straight away they microwaved a plate and off they went. Sometimes on a busy night or when I didn't feel like cooking I took the correct number of plates out of the freezer and we all had something different.
I think that is a excellent idea enjoyfinancialchallenges - I seem to experience Nigella Lawson waves where it's no trouble at all to make the bread, soup, pizza etc from stratch and then out of nowhere I'd rather eat teabags for tea just so I don't have to cook (maybe a little exaggeration included in this post). So the idea of having a whole dinner waiting in the wings sounds ideal.Had an excellent shop at Mr M's today.... whoopsies, BOGTF, BOGOF, used new year voucher, used my saved petrol vouchers from last year, and instead of the full price of £56, paid just £6
Super impressive!! Must have felt brilliant at the till after seeing the inital price show up.
Have just squirrelled away a bit of broccoli before it reached the soup. I have been doing this with a few mushrooms here and a few slices of pepper there so that we can vegetable tempura at some point and not have to go and buy all the different veggies at once.Man is the only creature that consumes without producing.0 -

Afternoon all. 16 items listed on eb*y. Fingers stiff now. All stuff that has been lurking in drawers and cupboards for yonks. Lets hope it all sells. Frugal - ish still so far this year. Why is it that all the insurances come at the front end of the year?? You pay out, but cant see anything tangible for it. Grrr. Whole meal this evening is from mark downs at Mr T. Chicken, roast potatoes, mashed swede - even the special stuffing which was marked down at Christmas. Hurrah. About 70p a portion. How decadent. Went to 1st car boot sale of the year on Sunday last..............oh, I have missed them. Didnt buy anything exciting, but my 3 paperbacks for £1 will keep me in reading material for a while. And then the Charity shop can have them. What goes around etc....0

Hi, remember to buy/borrow or somehow have plenty of plates on hand. Not so good when you have a meal ready and they are all in the freezer. My children loved the days we used the meals up and would book their favourite one. :j Very useful on nights you or others have meetings etc. Laushappy, I loved the idea of Nigella moments. The mind boggles!Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

Hello everyone hope you're all well.
Glad to hear you are feeling so much better Erme and have a good grasp of your primordial signs and have coping strategies in place.
I've taken some prepared dishes out of the freezer for tonight and tomorrow but I do need to buy potatoes to make homemade chips and I also need to buy a birthday card.
I'm still ploughing through the drawers and I'm getting rather fed up with it but I've unearthed some great sounding recipes I've kept over the years and am determined to try out a few new things. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Hello all - Im posting for a little help please - - - I have some frozen pork chops in the freezer - any ideas what to do with them other than grilling as usual? There was 6 of them lol, we down to the last 2 and neither of us wants grilled chops again!
Thanks you in advance x
In a dish, cover with a tin of thick vegetable soup, and any odd bits of veg, stick some foil on the top, cook for about 3 hours (I use gas, regulo 3), serve with mash, rice or dumplings.
