Hugs Minnie, hope you're feeling slightly better today x

Erme, glad to see you're feeling a bit better too.

Salski - I cook pork shops in the oven then at the last minute bung apple sauce and a chunk of cheese on, turn your oven off and the cheese will melt with the heat. Not very frugal or healthy but yum!!

I have just been to Mr T and only spent £3.26! I have never been in there and spent so little! It would have been even less if I didn't give in to whoopsied perfitieroles! My dad comes for tea every Thursday and I like to treat him and he bought me a set of rechargeable batteries last week after me moaning about all the kids toys having so many.

Got to go and pick up DS2 now, going to drive I'm afriad, it's freezing here today and he is full of cold so it's unfair to make him walk home.

    Byeeeeeee x

Hello all - Im posting for a little help please - - - I have some frozen pork chops in the freezer - any ideas what to do with them other than grilling as usual? There was 6 of them lol, we down to the last 2 and neither of us wants grilled chops again!
    Thanks you in advance x

Try: Gently frying them in a saucepan, with some chopped onion and leeks, stir well so they dont "catch" add finely sliced cooking apples after about 10 minutes, some sage.... keep stirring...... you can bulk it out with extra apple/onion/leeks... a dash of cream if you've some in, and serve with jacket potatoes :)

Had an excellent shop at Mr M's today.... whoopsies, BOGTF, BOGOF, used new year voucher, used my saved petrol vouchers from last year, and instead of the full price of £56, paid just £6 2uge4p4.gif so fridge/freezer/cupboards well stocked up again

Thanks Youngmummy and natnat13, it's the petrol vouchers which really add up over the year, I get 6 or 7, and last year, saved them, for one shop, rather than using them as I get them!

Haven't seen a February thread, but as I didn't do this challenge last year, don't know if the threads are changed monthly!

I am the helpline queen :j....I got help out of hours...twas actually a Dear relative I'm supposed to visit end of next month stressing me and insulting me to the absolute nines at 7.30am by text then not acknowledging what she'd done never mind apologising for 2 whole days....lovely :p

Thanks financial but I'm allowed a little extra meds when unwelll...On Monday I took the max dose and slept eventually then reduced again on Tuesday when felt better and made pizza from Gill Holcombe's book no. 2 (which I reckon is mostly currys and pizzas - quite expensive too @ £2.99 from the discount store but I had to go there for a book for the veg garden and the bike ride made me realise how unfit I am right now  but the endorphins were good:D)

Right....0556 - off to 'finally' book bus tickets for glasgow and ed before it's too late then do knitting...

Got a hair cut yesterday...only cost£5.50 for a C and BD at the local college cos with the state of the OD I can't justify going to my usual lassie.....Only snag = took 2 hours...(and it's a basic straight cut - nothing fancy) but am pleased with the result and now won't need doing till June (had loads off. tried the self cut thingy for a year and just ended up with very fine - not healthy hair)

    E

I'm pleased you are feeling better Erme yes, I have noticed a few times when things are not too good for you but its not my job to point it out, you obviously are getting the help you need/want and I am more than willing to give support where its wanted.

When I made the point about us having "collective paranoia" on this thread I was certainly not pointing a finger to anybody in particular but it was obvious to me some issues were not being dealt with. I do have a bit of experience with MH probs but this is not the place to
    give advice.

Pleased you have had a good haircut at a decent price, hairdressers are so expensive these days but essential if you want to look at all human. I had my very long hair cut two months ago and what a shock that was but I'm happy now its all gone, for a start I was getting hair caught up in my vacuum and was for ever cutting it out of the brushes.

I'm off to see my DS. DDIL, and lovely grandchildren tomorrow, I think I have mentioned before that I'm known as 'Nanny Biscuit' for obvious reasons so I had better get on and bake now.

Oh! and one more thing Iv'e had a V LSD today, I popped on our local bus this morning, using my bus pass of course and bought some fruit and veg from the market...BUT.. the money is last years 'cause I found a little container of 'boot sale float' and my £3.60 came out of that. I'm really loving this thread and what I'm achieving by eating out of the fridge/freezer and larder.:j I had a look around in my freezers yesterday and I think I might...just might....be able to survive another month without buying in food, we will see.
    Keep to £400 a month on C/C.
    :j
