(((Slowlyfading)))= I'm amazed anyone would send you a nasty PM, you are always so pleasant and sensitive with people. Their problem not yours!

Happy birthday Cheryl and good luck in your race.

Fab frugalling EFC, thats brill :j
I went out last night and spent £30, which wasn't too bad as I didn't get in until 1:30am! and used 2 taxies. Had a nice night with friends and don't do it very often.

Felt like I was having a wobble yesterday, my plans for lunch didn't go well, wasn't organsied enough, ended up gonig to Mr T's and spending £32! Not doing much today so hoping for NSD. Overall pleased with how I'm doing though, not every day is going to be perfect.

My friend gave my a celeb mag yesterday and for all you coca-cola addicts, if you buy 2 bottles of diet coke in boots you can get a free nail etc nail varnish. Not sure how long this offer is lasting.

Right, off to rehydrate my body!

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Jolaaled your question on flour bags really took me back to when we lived in Malawi and then Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, yes a long while ago I know but the flour and Mealie meal, the staple diet there then, came in cotton bag which were very useful to everyone. Local people used them to make clothes from and they could be used for cleaning cloths, nappies or for whatever you needed a piece of cloth for.

Have a good frugal day everyone.

This probably isn't what you had in mind, but strong paper is brilliant for lighting woodstoves. Or how about starting veggie plants off in them, planting them out and letting them dissolve underground?

oh...wouldn't it be great if our flour came in cotton bags still!
Great idea to use as planters too!
I have bought a big bag of cheap carrrots today, and want to try and store them so they don't go too soft too soon..i'm wondering if the paper bags would be a good place..then stashed in a dark cupboard??

    THANKS ALL!

An LSD yesterday, not as good as an NSD but good!

Visited the library yesterday, so had nice relaxing evening and morning reading. Even looked at quite a few craft books, but only one thing that inspired me.

Time to catch up with the chores now . . . .

I'm glad things are going well with your "significant other".

We are still eating out of the freezer, but I'm adding things in every week too, like eggs, ham for sandwiches, bread, and of course cat food. I'm not feeding the greedy monsters out of the freezer although something did steal the handful of smartprice prawns (their once a week treat) that I'd got out to defrost today and left in a bowl on the counter by accident. They were still frozen too

I made some little chocolate cakes yesterday, but there's only 3 left (child and friends mostly), and they've helped me make some very pink fudge today out of icing sugar, butter and mini marshmallows. The house elf won't eat it, but it's very popular in his friend's house.
  • Happy Birthday to Cheryl and hope the run went well, also hope that Lynz feels better soon.

Spent yesterday planning meals around the veg on offer in the different supermarkets and managed to source some awesome ways to use sprouts that were available in a 1kg for £1.00. Brussel bhajia, bubble and squeak and even a soup similar to a broccoli and stilton. Get to Mr M - no sprouts:mad:. That along with hardly any marked down produce despite leaving it 20 minutes til closing meant it was a fairly unsuccessful affair. (Feel like nothing is ever going to top the pieces of stilton, lancashire and roule I manage to scoop the previous week for the princely sum of 30p).

Just finished preparing the stew to put in the slow cooker and am about to make a bread dough so it can rise on the top of the slow cooker.

I had a very dissappointing late night visit too, to Mr M's on friday, everything still pretty highly priced, comparatively, so left the reductions there!
