Well it won't be a no spend day for me as I am going swimming later but the cold already seems to have got into my bones! Also I have just had a leaflet come through my door for the Mr T offers and some of them are just too good to miss - half pice olive oil, Cathedral City etc so I will go there and stock up! So much for avoiding that place! I will only buy what I've ticked off though.
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

Well done on the job seriously frugal :j

I was just thinking, does anyone go to macro? It's a cash and carry which is really useful if you want to bulk buy branded stuff like coke! You have to be a bit careful with the pricing on some things but they sometimes have really good offers. You need a card to get in and you're meant to have a business, to get a card you need proof of business from the IR, 2 invoices over £50 and photo ID, BUT people applying can get duplicate cards so if you don't qualify you may know someone who does who you could pursuade to get a card and you have one as well. They do toys, stationery (expensive I find), clothing, books, electricals and send out a fortnightly leaflet with all the offers so you can plan what to buy.

I just burnt DH's birthday cake, opps, a bit of clever knife work and some melted choc should cover it!!

Hah! I'm not that good :D

My top tip would be to go to the supermarket when they do the final reductions. I always go after work, so I'm getting there about quarter past five and my local Morrisons seems to be reducing things at that point.

I only buy what I will use and what is a total bargain (tortellini for 12p instead of £1.99 has been one of my faves!!)

All I did for lunch this morning was boil the kettle, whack some pasta in the pan then go for a quick shower. By the time I was dressed the pasta was cooked and I just stirred in my sauce. I'm getting better at being organised at least!

they never have deals when i go!!!! plus i did attempt to look at reduced stuff but found myself getting distracted and bought things i wouldnt!!

im great in some areas!!! especially in house!! but actually spending money although i am much better i still splash out

but its like the stamp thing i wouldnt dare!! and i wouldnt even think really!!

and food i really try but some times i really fance pizza from pizza express!!! or to got to our lovely local pub for dinner!!!

off work sick today!!! so been doing a million surveys but not sure if ive got anything to show for them!!

I gotta tell you a funny story about me and the click sites....the other day I was on one and got the free pet food thinking no more about it....well what arrives today bar courier? one huge tub of free pet food when I have neither a cat or a dog :rotfl: - so it's off to training scheme with it on monday for the boss's puppy :)....but puppy's can be fussy (even though this is very expensive pet food) so reckon it'll be downed pronto by her male cats (even better it has pink packaging :rotfl:)

Had a whoopsie spend on books from Mr W this pm enroute to docs...got the RHS guide, 4 packets of seeds and the frugal book about the saucepan someone mentioned on here a wee while ago for £10 so not terrible really

    re my broadband

Yeah it had passwords and stuff and it still got hacked so that's officially me off wifi...

So now got in and don't recognise the flat with rearranging the lounge for the new pc setup and like clearing the coffee table pre laying my 'scrap' of carpet at the weekend....LOL

Time to get the pressure cooker out methinks and make some yummy rice and lentil:T

  • I use cheap baby wipes for lots of cleaning jobs. Been to Sainsburys and their Basics pack is usually 17p, but it's on half price, so 8p a packet!!! Frugal or what!

Let DGD help me with dinner today. I'd defrosted a casserole, made with pork shoulder chops, and zillions of vegetables, and she made dumplings, which we cooked in packet chicken noodle soup, with egg vermicelli. The dumplings and vermicelli absorb all the liquid. When we'd finished, she said "That was cool, Grandma " which I took as a great compliment!

    xx

Bit of a downer for me today really in some respects
Dog cost 55 quid at the vet and she has to go back again next week- more money although she seems fine now
water has started to leak out of the washing machine underneath and I jsut cant afford a new one, but is going to cost 75 for someone to come out to assess it
called to pay my late council tax and due to the fact Ive left it late ive got summons so another 100 quid t find out of nowhere?? they said I can write and appeal it as we are on a low income and we might jsut get it waived :( _pale_ ) I paid 75 today but the rest has to come from my savings account when its moved, this has really depressed me though :(

    good news:
I got a 50 quid gift card from Very after they couldnt fulfil a lot of our orders so very happy with this :j
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
