Thanks for such a fast response

Not doubting you but where does it say this? I'm guessing there must be some t's and c's I am missing somewhere and if I have missed them here I'll miss them in other places.

Beginning to think these certificates are not the bargain I first thought! :o

No problem I see Ferf has already replied

Some are excellent value although I've never used them before.
I've gone with 4 Ben & Jerry's vouchers (can often be found) which give 50% off for $3.50
$75 at StripBurger for $7 although I need to spend $150 so I'll get $150 of food and drink for $82.

I've also gone with one for Aureole and some for Ocean Bar & Grille etc... worth a punt for me and I should save enough on Ben & Jerry's alone to cover the cost of all of my vouchers

    Over 4 different months? ;)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Do they have an expiry? I'm yet to print them off but we have a trip in August, then one in March and back in April (same trip split)

Also not sure if they have names on them as there is a group of us so hoping to pass one off to my wife, one to my mate etc if they expire.
Thinking at a kiosk window they might not be as picky as you can get the vouchers pretty easy

The T&C's are clearly stated not only on the site, but next to each restaurant before you buy them and, IIRC, you click to say you have read the generic T&C's that apply to all certs. They are certainly not hidden.

I agree - you do have to tick to say you've read the T&Cs before buying...but I know people have bought before and then been surprised to see the standard T&Cs that appear on the face of all certificates (which match those you tick to say you have read)...just goes to show that it does pay to read the T&Cs.

I always somewhat surprised that people think they could use more than one anyway...it just wouldn't make sense for a restaurant to participate if you could just pay nothing. Not having a go at anyone, but it just wouldn't make sense.

I still remember when we used ours for Ali Baba...without trying to, we spent only a tiny bit more than the minimum and then we felt kind of bad as the restaurant was nearly empty and here we were spending $10 + tip for our meals.

No expiry - but I have always assumed (could be wrong) that if bought from the same account - if you try to use more than one in a month - when the shop calls the second one in to get it validated (the restaurant calls a number, gives the certificate number and gets the OK), it won't go through as r.com will block it as you have already used one for B&J that month. Not sure if it's a calendar month or a 30-day month.

That's my understanding too. Having said that, I don't think B&J actually did whatever the correct process is properly when we used our r.com cert there last year - they gave us the 50% off no problems but the cert is still shown as unused on my account so presumably wasn't checked / registered properly by them with r.com to say it had been used on whatever day. I wouldn't like to bank on that always being the case though - it was more than likely just a one-off error on the part of whoever served us that day.

Some place take the certificate when you arrive and ring it through when you are there to ensure it is valid. Other places trust you and don't take the cert until the end of the meal.

Ahh well - will aim to use one in August, one in March and one in April and see how I get on.

Same for the four breakfast vouchers I got for some place in PH.

Not sure on how many of you there are but we are eating at Maggiano's.

They have private dining rooms - we have one for our nine people and do a fantastic menu with 4 hour free bar.

All in including service charges, taxes, upgrades to the menu, wine, wedding cake, drinks etc... our bill is only about $1000!

Thanks for the suggestion Crow99 but H2B has a bit of a thing about "going out for Italian food". Some nonsense about paying for something he could make himself at home. Usually he just says "I'm not paying for pasta with tomato sauce."
Having said that I have just read "Linguine di Mare - Lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams and spicy lobster tomato broth" and his ears pricked up...so perhaps I could convince him to go to Maggiano's another day. :p

Although, I yet to get Roy's past the MIL - so we shall see.

I must be hungry - all I can think of is food ........ now where what that giant picture of a slice of cake from the Cheesecake Factory? :D
    Married in Vegas - 25th October 2011!

hmmm...for just a second there I wondered if you might be marrying my husband. ;) He says exactly the same thing - he's why we have never tried Casa Di Amore.

I like the sound of this Roy's place...I may have to put it on the list of possibilities for this trip or another.
