99& of the time I love my job, I only work 3 days a week, but today I have been screamed at, had bags thrown at me, couples have rowed in front of me, I have spent seven hours dragging boxes of beer across the belt, I need my one day off tomorrow!

Our Asda is open tomorrow. (Great Barr).

I am just glad I don't work in retail.

Really - I work for Asda - where's Great Barr, I assume it must be in England? It's only time before the shops are open Christmas Day, in Scotland we were closed on Boxing day and the abuse I took from customers who were desperate to exchange items was awful.

H I got home at 8pm from work, just waiting for the second load of washing to finish, had one glass of wine, tomorrow will be ironing/cleaning! Nice to have a day off, next one is 9th Jan!

I am convinced that people lose their marbles/brains/common sense when they walk into a supermarket, especially at this time of year - someone tonight bought reduced brandy butter - 20p. She said she had no idea what it was, but it was a bargain, maybe (and she really said this) she could drink it!

Great Barr is in north Birmingham. Our Asda was only closed for one day over the whole of Xmas and that was Xmas day.

I think it depends on the area/location/turnover of the store.

Some asda's are open and some are not.

Same with the high street retailer I work for...some of our stores are open and for some of us it's just not worth opening or we cannot open as our store in a shopping centre which is closed so we have no choice.

It all depends on so many different factors in retail.

It was only a few years ago when all of our store were closed on NYD...now it's become more and more popular to open :(

Such a shame me thunks :(

I was off Xmas Day and Boxing Day this year...I'm loving people who are not happy because they are returning to work on Tuesday after 'only' 1 or 2 weeks off for the christmas hols :rotfl:
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

God the poor staff! In Scotland we got Christmas/Boxing Day off and tomorrow, but apparently we will be open Boxing Day next year.
