Can I cancel this contract?
I took out a £15/mth contract(for my sister) with carphone warehouse on an orange blackberry curve.
I took it out slotted in the sim etc sent a few (approx 5texts) then realised that despite the fact I had a data plan (which is the reason I went with orange) I could not use the Internet or any blackberry services unless I purchased the black berry Internet service for an additional 5/mth
As I mentioned this phone Was for my sister(in my name though) and she couldn't afford to do an extra 5 a month (which is £120) over the contract.
I bought the phone online and was wondering if I could return it (due to me not having the Internet despite me taking a contract with a data plan. And patchy signal at best
I was reading through the carphone warehouse FAQ and it says that for me to be able to return it I cant have used the sim but like mentioned She used approx 5 texts before realising the Internet issue.
Can I return the phone now or am I stuck in a contract for 24 months (I'm more than willing to pay for the said texts to cancel the contract)

So there no way at all? Will they ever make an exception or maybe somehow reduce the cost of the contact e.t.c or a cancellation fee that's lower?0

If you bought it over the internet. within the last 7 days you can send it back. Under the distance selling regulations0

My sympathies with you.... monthly contract with mobile company always cause me great anxiety. I am signing up with Orange as well... This is after a hiatus of 5 years on PAYG as I was burnt badly by Orange while I tried to renew the contract. Wanted to sign up with t-mobile but what with they being bought by Orange... I also hate these minimal plans - they sell them cheaply with very little of everything and if aren't careful they end up spending more than they would have had had they bought a more expensive plan.
Anyway back to your case - you are on Racoon 15 - can you switch to Dolphin 15? You lose the "unlimited" landline calls but then you get internet instead.
If you can't change it now would it be acceptable to you to change the plan 6 months later? Could you ask the Orange folks about this "Best Plan" thing:
