One more UU - Smashbox lash primer (came as a freebie with a QVC order)
WIBA- possibly, it is expensive though and I don't wear mascara that often so it wouldn't be a priority for me.

Welcome Tracey 2609 :) - good idea about swopping stuff over like that. I have a trug/container of stuff I really need to use up first which is handy too. And buying stuff with points or a gift card, mmm, that still kinda counts towards increasing your amount of stash! This thread has been incredibly busy - but it's worth reading through. I always think of that classic line in the Shopaholic movie... it's amazing what you can do when you're not shopping.

    Less shopping, more living :)

  • Morning all,

Pennypincher - if you want your dd's Johnson baby shower stuff to last longer - have you thought about getting her one of those shower puff things? Wilkinsons sell them for only 49p. You put one squirt on and then you can clean you whole body with it. I kept reading about them on here and thought initially what a faff but now I'm addicted.

    Couple of quick tips:
Old shower gel or bath foam (particularly ones you don't like! and are opened)
    * great to use to clean your make up brushes and hair brushes
    * add to hand pumps to use as hand wash (just be really careful about hygiene - thoroughly rinse out the pump bottle you intend to use and let it air dry upside down - then refill)
    * use it to clean out the bath/sink/shower
    * my mum always used to put soapy water on the roses in the garden to stop tiny little flies I think!
    * a bucket of soapy water is also useful to freshen up paths and patios

    Old moisturiser (face or body)
    * I'm guilty of using face moisturisers I didn't like - elsewhere. So on tougher skin like my elbows, knees, feet, backs of hands. Saves chucking a half empty pot or tube away.
    * I'll offer to give my OH a facial or a back massage - and use up some of the products that way too. His skin absorbs so much moisturiser.
    * Top up moisturising drier areas during the day - so elbows, knees, backs of hands, neck. I once read that Iman (Bowie's stunning wife) applied face moisturiser several times a day.
    * Do hand/foot massage to help use things up - it's amazing how much cream/lotion the feet in particular can absorb.
    * Place pots/tubes in strategic places so you'll see them and use them - so by the kitchen sink, bedside table, at work, everywhere.

Right I'm off for a lovely pamper session to use some stuff up :A

    Thanks sweetie!

We do actually have one of those puff things, but DD has up to 2 showers per day.

  • Can anyone recomend a really good hand cream? Due to extreme steroid useage over the past 5 years and still needing to take them, my skin has become very thin. I have to do my bloods up to 6 times a day, so the tips of my fingers get very dry. I have tried several creams but nothing works well. I dont mind if its a dearer one as long as it works.

    Thanks

    Morning all...

Still no uu for me, but gonna have a pamper session after i've done the ironing later on....

Two ins to declare (they were free as Nailsinc cocked my order up!) Cadogan Square & Montpelier Square.... I've decided that in order to get my nail polish stash down, i'm always gonna have nail polish on!!! This will apply to my toes too as soon as I can see them again.... :p I did ask hubby if he would paint them for me last week, judging by the look I got I wont hold my breath....:rotfl:

Off to put some bits on ebay this afternoon while football is on, i've a DKNY perfume that i've used a couple of times, but not keen on, is it worth putting it on ebay??? What about make up bags/boxes etc that i've got free???

L'Occitane shea butter is fab for dry skin
S&G hand food is nice and creamy too (and cheaper!)

I'd second the L'occitane shea butter recommendation

The bodyshop hemp hand cream is fantastic, doesn't smell the nicest of the bunch but works miricles :)
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
