    Hello All

Self confessed recovering Toiletries-a-holic. Sign me up for another year - as i still have useable and unopened stuff hanging around.

Dont even ask how much i had when i started in Jan 2010:o. Needless to say - the stock is smaller - as i am a shower not bath girl, the bath gifts just piled up. New years resolution is in addition to daily shower - to have one girly soak in the bath per week using the maximum number of "need to finish" products possible - meaning, dont just soak, exfoliate, slather on the mud and apply body lotion afterwards.

Who knows i may get rid of the lot by the end of the year,

    Fingers Crossed

    Hello Trini
I've had great success in using up unwanted bubble bath by pouring it on to a body puff/body mop and using it as I would shower gel. I realise it doesn't solve the problem of bath bombs, etc but it does work.

I will do my stash list once my new bed has arrived. I will have to have a mega - tidy of the bedroom for the new bed (an electric adjustable for my arthritis with memory foam mattress, I cannot wait!).

I suspect there are lots of forgotten products dotted around the bedroom. I shall unearth, I will list.
I'm really tired now so should sleep ok on my uncomfortable old bed.

that's an old wives tale - you don't catch a cold by being wet, or cold. You catch it from sneezes and coughs from people who already have one.

I also wash and run - I can't remember the last time I used a hairdryer. I have long hair so it goes up in a bulldog clip type thingy and is sometimes still damp at the end of the day.

I always do this to. My hair is curly and gets really frizzy if it doesn't air dry.

    Dear Clarins,

I have been trying and failing to open this after sun for six years now (as you can see by the date on the bottom)...

Morning all - I was halfway through a 2litre bottle of Avon bath foam. I have added some baby oil to it as well as some coconut perfume oil (5 drops) and 3 half bottles of coconut shower gels...mixed them all up and dispensed them into hand wash bottles as well as using it for bubble bath! I am again down to half a bottle of it and it smells wonderful, leaves my skin so soft and smelling bootyful!

    Morning all,

Pennypincher - if you want your dd's Johnson baby shower stuff to last longer - have you thought about getting her one of those shower puff things? Wilkinsons sell them for only 49p. You put one squirt on and then you can clean you whole body with it. I kept reading about them on here and thought initially what a faff but now I'm addicted.

    Couple of quick tips:
Old shower gel or bath foam (particularly ones you don't like! and are opened)
    * great to use to clean your make up brushes and hair brushes
    * add to hand pumps to use as hand wash (just be really careful about hygiene - thoroughly rinse out the pump bottle you intend to use and let it air dry upside down - then refill)
    * use it to clean out the bath/sink/shower
    * my mum always used to put soapy water on the roses in the garden to stop tiny little flies I think!
    * a bucket of soapy water is also useful to freshen up paths and patios

    Old moisturiser (face or body)
    * I'm guilty of using face moisturisers I didn't like - elsewhere. So on tougher skin like my elbows, knees, feet, backs of hands. Saves chucking a half empty pot or tube away.
    * I'll offer to give my OH a facial or a back massage - and use up some of the products that way too. His skin absorbs so much moisturiser.
    * Top up moisturising drier areas during the day - so elbows, knees, backs of hands, neck. I once read that Iman (Bowie's stunning wife) applied face moisturiser several times a day.
    * Do hand/foot massage to help use things up - it's amazing how much cream/lotion the feet in particular can absorb.
    * Place pots/tubes in strategic places so you'll see them and use them - so by the kitchen sink, bedside table, at work, everywhere.

Right I'm off for a lovely pamper session to use some stuff up :A

  • I'd like to join this challenge as well - but I need to "do" a proper list of what I've got before I start, I got spoilt at Christmas (I love getting toiletries for presents - is this sad?) but I reckon I've got enough shower gel and bath cream (which I will use as shower gel) to last me for at least 4 months even with a shower every day!

I'm not sure if anyone else on here does this - there are a lot of pages to read through! I have a huge amount of make up - addicted to buying it, even though I know that I shouldn't!

But what I've been doing for the past few months is keeping a medium sized "Really Useful Box" as my day to day make up bag, and everything else in a bigger box in my cupboard. When I get bored with the bits and pieces I use day to day - I dig around in the bigger box and swap things around.

I admit that I got some new make up in the Boots sale - but I did use my advantage points and a gift card to pay for them!
