Jeez LittlePinkStars - I Thought I had loads of stuff......

After talking to OH yesterday about our credit cards and not realising how many little items we put on there, instead of just paying for stuff from the bank accounts - we made a decision to cut them up and pay the debts off......

Then last night at my brothers, I mentioned how many bottles of toilettries we have in the wardrobe and I was rather embarrassed...:o

So, time to do a stock take, post it on here and put a new signature on here to remind me about all my money saving resolutions.....

I must apologise in advance for asking stupid questions sometimes (i'm blonde and am suffering from baby brain) sometimes I might go quiet, but start mat leave at end of Jan, so will have more time to chat....:rotfl:

Quick question, when starting this challenge, does this mean that toiletry sets bought through glitches, for presents etc are to be included???

    Be back shortly

    Thanks

    Hi SJP and welcome!

There are no strict "rules" with this challenge. We all tailor it to suit our own particular situations. It is up to you whether you post an inventory or not. Generally speaking if you do, you might as well include everything you have that is for your own use. If you have sets that you are going to earmark for regifting or ebay, then put them away in a box somewhere and don't include them as they will already be saving/making you money.

Lynsdeydee, bath pearls are supposed to dissolve their contents into the waterl, however I used to find it better to run the hot water first to help them dissolve better. I do seem to recall the casings on some dissolving, on others hanging around the bath afterwards! Haven't seen or used them for years. I used to feel they were a rather sophisticated gift to receive many years ago.....but then I remember bath cubes as well

Any old mascara or does it have to be a clinique one??

I can't find a direct Debenhams link to this offer yet, although it is mentioned on lots of moneysaving/deals forums. I wonder if it came out as a "heads-up leak" from a SA, as it's not due to start for a couple more weeks.

The last time Clinique did this it was this deal for any old mascara. The freebie was a sample size one, but that's OK!

I'm in. I tried this last year with mixed results and have been very bad lately. My bank balance and bathroom shelves are crying out for help! I've started a stock take but suspect it will take most of the year to complete it, but will update it when I can.

    50ml Bionsen roll on deodorant

400ml St Ives Alpha Hydroxy Nourishing Shampoo
400ml Herbal Essences uplifting volume shampoo

300ml Supersoft yogurt and lime smoothie conditioner
    45ml Insette Extra Hold hairspray

300ml M&S Aloe Vera Hand and body lotion
250ml Body Shop cranberry hand lotion
    240ml Opulence hand lotion
    240g Lush Dream Cream
125ml S&G Hand Food (half full)

15ml No 7 Age Rewind Night Cream (half full)
100g Lush Breath of Fresh Air toner
100ml Inecto Pure Coconut Milk moisure miracle face mask

125ml Rimmel gentle eye make up remover
    250ml Ambray nail polish remover
    Boots Expert nail biting solution
59ml Boots artificial nail remover (found this to be rubbish!)

Boots 17 even tone colour corrector cream

100ml Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT (about 20ml left boo hoo:()
75ml Elizabeth Arden Splendour (just over half left)
30ml Pierre Cardin Bleu Marine Pour Elle (jjust over half left)

Definitely count me in on this. Tried last year but didn't succeed and have added a lot more to my stash.

The Boots, Bodyshop and Lush sales were my downfall.

Starting again with a clean slate for Jan:A, if a rather bigger stash :eek:than I had when I started this challenge in November....!:rotfl:

Joining in the challenge for the first time

My problem really is in using the items that I have been given/bought on the spur of the moment

I tend to use the same shower gel/toothpaste/shampoo, but have loads of body scrubs/butters/lotions that I don't use that often

So, I am asking for advice here. Do people tend to use up one tube/jar/bottle at a time (mostly body shop but other odd ones as well) or do people dip in and out of various products

I'd give them away but I'd be worried that I have had some for a while and they may not be good enough. I bought some expensive cath kidson rose hand cream and after what seemed a really short time the rose smell had gone and smelled of lanolin? I'd love to throw everything away and start again but that is not very MSE

    thanks
