Thanks for pointing out the change in terms and conditions, which was not in any of the information sent with my last bill. I make very few calls via BT so have cancelled this service, just in case BT reserves their right to charge me £5.25 a quarter.0

Please how did you cancel this service, I, too do not use BT and it is very easy to forget to make two calls in a month? It's OK when I am here but cannot rely on hubby to do it whilst I am not here.0 -

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

loulou41 - I cancelled the service via the BT website (https://www.bt.com). But its not easy to find your way about - I recall I logged in to my account, went to Manage my Calling Features and unclicked the box for BT Privacy.0

Seems a little silly to cancel a useful service, I just can't understand the point in having a caller display phone, if you aren't going to use it to see who is calling before you answer, especially when all it takes is 2 calls per month via BT. People must still have to dial 0845 numbers (if an alternative can't be found), that are usually dearer on their CPS service.
It's only a few pennies with BT for a useful service.
Though I know there are many lazy people, who are happy to pay higher costs for some calls when their use CPS providers, because they can't be bothered to dial a short number first. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I'm going to phone BT twice a month to thank them for BT privacy.0

Martin has always recommended the Orchid Dialler and users of this forum can get a 20% discount. Just program the dialler to route all your 0845 numbers over BT. That should be at least two calls per month!0
