2 calls a month via BT to retain free caller display

Hi
Can someone point my in the right direction for the place on the BT website where it states that from 1st Oct you have to make at least 2 chargable calls via BT or else you'll be charged something like £1.75 per month for caller display. I believe this applies even if you signed up to it as part of BT privacy and you've so far been getting it free without even having to make a call through BT.
I've tried searching the home phones board and the BT website but I can't find any mention of it.
Many thanks

It's in the (grey) small print at the bottom of HERE.From 1st October 2006 customers who do not make some chargeable calls with BT will be charged for BT Caller Display.
Customers with other call providers can still benefit from BT Caller Display at no extra cost, if the following calls are made. Customers who bill monthly must make at least two chargeable calls with BT in that month, otherwise BT reserves the right to charge £1.75 a month for BT Caller Display. Customers who bill every three months must make at least six chargeable calls within those three months, otherwise BT reserves the right to charge £5.25 a quarter.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Also here and on the BT price list
BT also enclosed the information in the booklets they were sending out with bills a few months ago.
To qualify for free Caller Display via BT Privacy, you always agreed to make 'some calls' via BT - all they have done now is 'clarify' the number of calls needed.
Out of interest, have you been charged? If so, you be the first person I have heard this happen too..

just put 1280 in front of call for a few seconds twice a month.0

Glad I saw this thread or I'd still be just making the one call a month - will mark it in the diary to make 2 calls instead!:hello: :hello: :hello:0

Does the call have to be answered or can you just let it ring a couple of times and then put the phone down?0 -
I would assume it would have to actually be answered even if only for a few seconds as otherwise if it just rings you won't be charged anything and therefore I would assume it wouldn't be logged on the system. If anyone knows differently though let me know!
I have two landlines so if I don't have a call to make I just tend to phone one from the other for a second or two and then hang up!! I try to make sure I do it on the 1st of each month so I don't forget too.

The key phrase is "at least two chargeable calls with BT"Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. No I haven't been charged for not making the minimum number of calls. I just wanted to clarify exactly how many I needed to make to keep BT happy. I see if you get your bill quarterly you actually just have to make 6 calls each quater. It doesn't have to be 2 each month, just 6 over the 3 month period. Anyway thanks for the replies and the clarification. The BT website has to be one of the worst when it comes to searching for specific information!0
