That's what I do Lilyass- I don't count DDs as they will go out whatever I do that day! I include everything else that I spend on a card or with cash. Food and petrol is included. The food and petrol thing actually helps because if I know, for example, that I will need petrol tomorrow, I will try to put off any other spending until the same day. Mostly it works- occasionally I will find that we have run out of something unexpectedly- in which case I try to get DH to get it on the way home from work! :rotfl:

I do almost the same, all cash and card spends I make/things that are joint - not things OH buys just for him or him buying food at work - I can't control whether he does that or not.

So Friday and Saturday both turned out to be spend days but it was mainly food, I'm not well with a horrible cold/cough and we're having trouble with house selling and mortgages and OH was fed up so in the end planned meals went out the window.

NSD today though so 12 for me

tomorrow will be a spend day, - need to develop a plan for February - this is really helping with random spends.

  • Good morning everyone!

Yesterday I reached 24 NSDs and 7 NSDs in-a-row! Whoopeee! I'm going to declare with those final totals for the month, as I have a food shop to do today, as well as my mobile phone to sort out, so today will definitely be a spend day.

Well done everyone with all the NSDs collected this month!

See you all on the Febuary thread - and thanks as always to Spoon and SF for all your hard work! :T

Finally managed to reach my target :j(thank goodness as about out of time).

Have to think about the best way to move forward with this - I excluded direct debit days from bank (as spread out over month) but included everything else.... think I may exclude petrol and main shop each week (as basically have to get them) but not sure if this is the right way to go about this........ will ponder tomorrow.

    Have a good week everyone!

Thats basically what I do lillylass if thats any help.
I exclude DD's, petrol & main food shop as long as I stay within budget.

I dont count DD either (although I prob could as nearly all of them go out between 1st and 3rd of month with just a couple of stragglers), I dont have a car but if I did I would count any spends on it. Count everything else except my once a week to the gym. I started this challenge to stop the nipping to the shops for the odd bits and pieces and it seems to be working :) Maybe as I get better I will start to include EVERYTHING but for now I'll stick with my only exceptions being DD and gym ,

Not sure if this will be picked up so I will post on the new thread as well :)
