ps...I have a little 'fession to make....:o I just ordered a case for my Kindle (felt a bit silly unwrapping it from a bit of bubble wrap last week and I deff use it a lot so don't want it damaged) plus a pair of shorts for my dance class I've had my eye on for ages tonight....
...Kindle case was bought with Amazon gift vouchers from my shop and scan (but no more spending of those now for me - need to save them for xmas 2011)....shorts were reduced from 19.95 to 14.95, not a great saving but something (total 18.91 with p&p) and I have coveted them for months (no exaggeration). so thats me - spent up on non-essentials til next pay day - and if i fall off the wagon, slap me with a kipper please.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Aww thanks guys, & Kerri think friend is getting there it's a long term situation, but a rant always helps!!
Cheryl, builders tea then, there's a cup for you in the pot!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
I am feeling very pleased with myself!!:D
Pay day today. For the first time in years I didn't have to worry about not having any money in the week or so leading up to pay day. In fact I even had enough money to do a Tescos shop on monday!
I'm not sure whether it is as a result of joining this challenge, but it certainly must have helped- I am now thinking before spending on pretty much anything- if I can manage without it I don't bother. The strange thing is that we are probably eating better because I have more money as a result, even though I have also been paying as much as I could to debts this month, rather than the usual minimum.
Even though I have BIG debts, I actually feel in control of my spending for the first time I can remember. It feels such a reliefSave £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -

I've missed you all over the last few days which have been frankly, a total nightmare, started with t'interwebby problems on Monday, followed by a friend in crisis yesterday & today was a burst pipe & a horrible situation at work when i found out that someone i work with has been making up horrible stories about me & has officially reported me  (these stories could have potentially landed me in court )
Luckily (as i haven't done anything wrong) it was fairly easy to disprove any wrongdoing, but i can't help but wonder who would want to do that & whether they will try anything else.....
The good news is that this afternoon i got offered a new job :j
(i applied last October & had written it off as no chance by now!!)
It's more money, the perfect job for me & under the circumstances i can't wait to start!!!!
So no NSD's unfortunately, but tomorrow will be & seeing as i seem to be awash with groceries think i'm going to aim to not open my purse until next week!!
What comes around goes around, you obviously deserve the new job but the nasty person at work has their just deserts coming I'm sure.
I'm really pleased for you0 -

Love the names Mumma. See below for moreIs your mum losing her hearing? I'm hearing impaired, I'd happily give you some pointers on what is available and where to get it from... Most of it can be got for free from local councils but they often don't tell you this at the hospital or clinic. Great company called Connevans, have a look at their catalogue just to show you what is available....
Thanks for the lead; I'll check it out in a mo. Mum's been wearing hearing aids for about 10yrs & thought they were giving up the ghost, but it seems wax is the culpritI've spoken with someone in the Sensory Impairment[??] unit today & providing we can persuade mutha to go NHS with proper full-on tests (she insisted on going private with her current 'plugs'..nowt more than pure Vanity ) to get an audiology report, there's apparently a lot more equipment available.

....Right, off to get more knitting done...the stuffy exam room has made my sinusitis bad again so can't do any X-stitch
Knitting's OK though, so long as it's not too complicated and I need to wear my glasses all the time! :rotfl:

Number 17 and a retrospective 18 for the refunded hotel deal I cancelled, which was the only money I spent that particular day (I have been very good at writing spends in my diary for January. Not sure how well I'll keep it up. I'm sure time will tell!). So that's target 2!
Tomorrow won't be an NSD and Friday and Sunday are looking a bit more dubious than they were yesterday as I've made plans to see friend's I've not seen in ages!
So with a bit of planning and determination, that leaves Saturday and Monday... so let's just see what upping my target to 20 acheives.
Chris, I've been anthropomising with insouciant abandon today. How about you? :rotfl:
Mumma I'm sure they mentioned already but almond oil drops in the ear regularly helps with the wax. Assuming your mum is ok with almond oil.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

I hadn't realised how much I stop off at Tesco on the way home before I started this challenge!
Thanks Nic; we've been using good old olive oil & it has brought back memories of when I was a tiddly & had ear-ache! I was talking with the lady on the till t'other day about mum's predicament--she'd been trying to make conversation & was beginning to look embarrassed when I'd finally emptied my shopping from the trolley--& she wears hearing aids too. Turns out no-one had mentioned to her either, that there could be an issue with them pushing the wax deep into the ear canal so altho not pleasant for all concerned, I did feel a little better for having confirmation that we were not told about it from the outset.
Guess I'd better fess up & admit no further nsds to report, so till the next time..adi!s Amigos & apologies for nae supportin Rrrrraabbie but I'll raise a dram tonight if I may...Shalom!
