I was parking in the pouring rain near my sons' school, the windows were quite steamed up, and to cut a long story short I managed to clip the front wheel arch of a van  I've been driving for 20 years and have never managed to damage my car or anyone else's, so I am really annoyed with myself.
It was difficult to see the damage as the vehicle was so wet, but there is minimal paint damage to mine and his- probably both will mostly polish out, but it is up to him really to decide. I was expecting him to have phoned when I got home but he hasn't yet.
After that I went shopping to try to replace a pair of earrings that DH bought me for Christmas- I managed to lose one. I really don't want to have to own up as I only had them for a week. Anyway, the jewellers was being refurbished . I am wondering how long it will be before either DH or DD comments on the fact that I'm not wearing my lovely earrings
.
Anyway, nothing I can do about either situations, but suffice to say I am feeling very down in the dumps, even after a diet coke and belgian bun!!
Hopefully a NSD tomorrow!
Suzie - what a carp morning, what a shame :grouphug: to you!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Happy Monday everyone. Just reporting it to say I had another NSD on Friday taking me up to 7/15!
Unfortunatetly Saturday and Sunday were both spending days and I need to buy food tonight. Hope to be back on track tomorrow

Reporting for the last 3 days:
Friday I bought some cards at lunchtime and a couple of little chocolate bars as I had a cravingthen food shopping in the evening and OH was out so certainly not a NSD
Then Saturday we did some shopping locally so again nothing major but still a spend day.
Yesterday stayed at home and resisted online spending (OH didn't but not a joint/general purchase so that doesn't count)
So NSD 6 for me
I'm going to struggle to get another 9 in before the end of the month  but at least it's helping to focus my spending!Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Just had a phonecall from the van driver, who said that although there is a minor scuff on his wheel arch it is nothing compared with the general wear and tear on his van and he won't lose any sleep over it- so I can relax!!In the meantime I did text my husband (so that I didn't have to tell him when he got home!!!) but am now thinking I needn't have bothered :rotfl:.
So, my day has got slightly better- thank goodness!Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -

Exactly the same thing happened to me probably about a year ago now...I worried for weeks about it until she eventually called and told me that the garage had told her it wasnt worth repairing and it would just polish out! I lost so much sleep over it and you couldnt even see any damage!
I have decided that today WILL be NSD6. There are a couple of bits we need, but we can quite easily cope until the shopping is delivered on Wednesday. I think my target was 7 for the month...im going to have to up it now!! Lets go for ten this monthJanuary grocery challenge- £338.09/£350

Glad to hear that things have taken a turn for the better Suzie. I did wonder when you said it was a van if you might be lucky - they can be nightmare drivers (some of them) but if the van is generally used for work purposes (as most are), chances are they are generally not too precious about the exterior so long as the van functions ok.
