A combination of things really.
Snow & ice & not being able to get out, being mucho skint & how I count my NSD's.
I dont count days DD's?SO's go out of my account, I take cash out of the bank once in a while to pay DS's lunch money,I dont count grocery shopping unless I am over budget.
What I am trying to challange is uneccessary cash spending ie popping for a coffeee, buying things expensively at local shops & things like that IYSWIM>I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Giving up smoking calls for drastic measures - well done on your will power! I have been fag-free for 3 years and 7 months ( not that I'm counting;)) after being a dedicated smoker for 30 years. I smoked 30-40 a day:eek:
Wow Jinty, that is brilliant, well done you!!catslovelycats wrote: »I'm excited about tomorrow.Returning £149 worth of clothes to M&S £94 to Clarks and some bits to Next. Painful, but needs to be done! :rotfl: :A
I have a £44 credit note for M&S.:D:D:D:D
Challenge: to go into town without buying anything except for using my M&S credit note.
If I manage that it'll be a first! :j
Well done Cats on having the willpower to take so much stuff back, but think how many other more useful things you can do with that cash! Fingers crossed you manage to stick to your M&S budget!
Glad you're safe Teenyweenyspender x
Not an NSD for me today as did my grocery shop tonight, but also opened a new bank account which i'm chuffed with as i have been paying account fee's for far too long through nothing more than laziness.
Am planning a no spend weekend, all i need is a storage box for my bathroom bits which i have put the money to one side for today, so i can clear out the bathroom & then it's DIY SOS all over again as i get reacquainted with my sledgehammer & start taking out the wall between the bathroom & the toilet!! Am hoping this will distract me from the lack of forum tomorrow!February NSD challenge 5/150 -

Declaring today as NSD no 8, though I did spend some money!
I cashed in a couple of lottery scratch cards which won £1 each. They were in the Pots of Gold I did for Christmas, (mine and DS2's won)..and bought ibuprofen for DS2 as his foot is rather sore atm. So I only spent my winnings...well 29p of the £2 (DS2 gave me his £1). Does everyone think think this is OK?
Putting the rest into my pot of change...we didn't raid it that much this Christmas, so it's looking a bit healthy. I want to try not delve into it until next Christmas...though it does have the float we have for car-boot sales, but that will be returned (with a bit extra!) every time we use it.
Right, it should be an NSD weekend...busy tidying up in the house, sheds and garden. DH and DS2 are collecting a display cabinet from a friend on Sunday, but I will pay her when I see her on Monday..my next scheduled spending day....organization or what!!
Looks like we will all get loads done tomorrow while the site is down...I spend a bit too much time on here, if truth be told.
Have great weekend everyone.

Ah, OK. I count them slightly differently to you- I don't count DDs, SOs etc, but I do count every bit of grocery shopping that I do. One of my particular aims is to avoid going into our local Sainsbury's 3, 4 or even more times a week as I was until recently. I am trying to plan ahead much more by doing an online shop as needed (weekly or fortnightly depending on stocks!) I hardly ever had a NSD until I joined this challenge!
Of course I am also trying to tackle uneccessary spending (cash or otherwise) like you, but in not venturing to town for food shopping, this is pretty much taking care of itself!Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
