Check Device Manager to check what it says about your mouse.

I had my mices replaced twice in 8 months total, I ended up just asking for my money back and getting one from Amazon which is much better.

does the mouse need "synching" with the dongle? maybe by pressing a button on the underside of the mouse?

Many wireless mice have "connect buttons" on receiver and mouse, have you pressed these in quick succession?

read the instruction that came with the mouse (or the side of the box) on the correct way to press the buttons? there are far too many different combos for us to give you one at a time.

    4.Up/down keys to select Hardware>enter
    5.Tab down to Device Manager>enter
6.Tab to select hardware list and down key to Mice>enter
7.Right key on Mice and down to mouse type installed>enter
8.Window tells you whether mouse is working or not.
