  • They gave you the TV accidentally, you didn't steal it.

    It is stealing!!!!

The TV doesn't belong to the OP. It wasn't paid for and needs to be returned.

Just call them and ask them to collect.... and I wouldn't bother with any lies of injuries. They made the mistake and should pick it up regardless.
  • Ring them and tell them its up to them to pick it up when convenient for you. They may tell you to keep it and then youve done the right thing and got a telly. This has happened to me ableit not a tv but hey you never know and no guilt involved.

    Nab

Does anybody know what I am legally obliged to do?

In answer to your question you're legally obliged to tell them about their oversight. Failure to do so means that you're appropriating this item (assuming the rights of an owner) when it's not yours
    (i.e = theft).

I would be tempted to take it back and ask for a full refund on the basis that you have had two faulty tellys now. You would then have a new telly and not spent a penny!

Me too, I'm afraid to say.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

Karma! And the fact that when they find out, you probably would be done by the police.

I would contact them asking for them to pick it up - as someone previously said think about the staff who would be under suspicion for theft and may loss their job - how would you feel if that was you?

I would also phone them and ask them to pick it up at your convenience, (it isn't yours).

What I don't understand is why you did not check the telly was in your car before driving away! I would certainly have checked, what would you have done if you got home and found no telly in your car?

The right thing to do is to phone the store and let them know what happened, after that it is up to them. If they ask you to return it, refuse point blank and tell them that they have to collect it.
