Ignition Barrel Skoda Felicia

Hi Guys can anyone help like Wig i just brought a new ignition switch and hoping Hooray i can start my trusty little Car !!!!!! nope not happening ! turns over but when i turn the ignition switch i get a ! then the ignition lights ? another turn i get the handbrake light and i cant turn it anymore !to start the engine have i messed up the wires or am i just being Thick ,i thought that i was by passing the barrel altogeather , i have the key in the barrel and near the mobalizer ,Help any ideas
