I used to work for Currys ( There rubish at customer service) best thing to do is go back into the store you got it from ask for a replacement, if they are unwilling to give replacement ask to speaker with manager and keep doing that untill you get somewhere. They should replace it there and then. Hope this helps

Three return bus trips for 2 people, called liar thief and all curry's business has caused me is £10 loss, sleepless night and false allegations :embarasse can i claim compensation
Pity I did not notice your misfortune yesterday, though I do think that running for an ambulance chaser at this juncture would not alter the attitude the retailler has with understanding your problem.
I, personally do not have a problem with items I purchase, as a clear and remarkedly friendly tone does allow the otehr party to deal in fairness.
And of course, I do sometimes return items as well, here is a recent example.Freddie_Snowbits wrote: »Well Freddie's new Epson 1400 colour printer was not working when I installed it, so I rang Currys, who arranged for me to return it for a replacement.
Just got back from there, efficient service, no need to have a haranging match or shout, straight swap. Now Freda is thrilled at those A3 prints of her fab hubby.
How did Freddie manage to do this. I'll tell you how. 1 I kept the reciept. I had already thrown the box. No probs!
Oh, and them prints of Freddie, available on Ebay for £25 each, darts come extra.

This is such a strange coincidence; friends of ours had the exact same thing happen with a camera bought instore at Sainsburys. Accessories & a case and some software were in the box but no camera. They went back to the store, pretty sure that no-one would believe them. But Sainsburys apologised straight away and gave them another camera.0

:j i got a refund !!
went to the store this morning. Repeated the whole story to a new store assistant again who looked at me disbelievingly. He spoke to manager and went to stock room to check if there is another item to exchange for me. Waited for about 20 mins near the till and could see the SA doing other work. He came back and said no stock and left me with manager who went to the stock room to look. Another 15 mins. He came back and went to the camera display area and was checking something. It was more than 20 mins again and I peeped from the till to see what he was doing. He had a camera in his hand and was looking at the computer. He finally came back and said that he had checked the serial no on the display one and the no. on the box i brought back and they are the same  he had checked it is working as new and wanted me to take it. have been cleared from all allegations by currys
I refused as it was display piece and will not pay d price of brand new and got a refund!!!

Beware guys ALWAYS ALWAYS open the box after you've paid at the till itself even if it has the security seal on.
am new here and your support was very helpful .. thanks
This is appalling - I first though that a customer had "taken" it, but this is beyond a joke. I'd put what you have put above into a letter to head office and firstly ask for your out of pocket expenses plus a good will gesture of around £50 for the inconvenience and stress these muppets have put you through.0 -

What an awful experience! It was lucky that the camera was on the display, otherwise they might not have believed you.
I would definitely open the box and have a look first before leaving the store after reading all these posts.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
