I know this is not really the weather to be asking this question but I have a esperate craving for a crushed ice/slush puppy type drink.
Anyone have any idea how I would go about making one?? My freezer dispenses crushed ice so I tried adding apple juice to it but it wasn't that great. Anyone have any idea?

Gosh so long since I had one of those - used to sneak these as a kid as they were one of the things along with chewing gum that parents wouldn't let us have! Seem to remember they were more syrupy and sweet than just pure juice so maybe try cordial made much stronger than usual?0

try grenadine syrup, you will find it in the drinks isle in supermarkets, i buy the red one and put in with fizzy lemonade to make my son a 'cocktail'.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Oooooooooh I LOVE slush puppies - the blue strawberry one is amazing.
Had a Kiwi one abroad and that was divine too
I would put your crushed ice in the blender to make it sloppier, then add cordial - but you can't buy blue slush raspberry cordial!!!Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

You can't! It is a shame as I love the flavour. I would have a permanently blue mouth though.
Then my favourite cordial ever got discontinued - terrible!

I just got back from Mexico a few weeks ago and they did strawberry daiquiris like slush puppies.
Try making a strawberry syrup by boiling strawberries in sugar syrup and push through a fine sieve to remove seeds. Cool then add some to your crushed ice blended. You can even add some Bacardi or any white rum for a special treat.
I use the the syrup thickened with cornflour as a topping for homemade cheesecake. You could adapt the syrup with any soft fruit.0 -
the syrups that you put in soda streams, work well for home-made slush puppies

I'm gonna have a blue mouth forever now too :eek::eek::eek::eek:
I am such a dimwit - if people sell blue slushies then its obvious you could source the cordial!!! It didn't occur to me! LOL
Well done Cranky
