E7 v Standard rate
Options
Just done comparison site review and had a bit of a surprise.
Based on my annual consumption of 16944 units pa for an all electric home, the results mean I will be staying on E7 as opposed to my original plan of wireless controlled panel heaters.
From comparison site cheapest E7
Scott Power online energy saver12 total cost for above usage £1155pa
Cheapest Standard rate
EDF Saver v8 total cost £1500pa
Realise its all horses for courses but in this case I am better off on E7, unless anyone can come up with a cheaper tariff.
Also it could still be worth going with the panel heaters as you are able to set times for heating to come on/off, unlike the storage heaters, though is the extra £28.75 pmonth really worth it.

Hmm....
Have you took into account the higher ratio of daytime units panel heaters will consume.
I think the problem with E7 v 24 Hr tariff is not the issue here; E7 is designed to be used with storage heaters, the cheap rate timed to come on overnight when demand for electricity is low. Therefore using panel heaters on an E7 tariff is folly (unless your waking hours are between 11pm to 8am) as you'll be paying a higher rate if you use the heaters through the day than you would be on a 24Hr tariff.
At great risk of being flamed I'd say you best option would be Eco10 as the times for the cheap rate periods would be better suited to the heaters. Difficult to find a supplier who will give you what you want though, and Eco10 can be misinterpreted and set up differently depending on the area you live in.0 -
