Amazon, GRRrrr!!!

really Pi**** at Amazon.
I placed an order which included several people's presents, on about the 14th Dec (21st Estimated delivery)
It showed as Dispatched on the 16th...
so i waited...
and waited...
then on the 24th after the post had been i sent an email thanking them for the fact that some people would not have presents to open on Christmas day.
I received an e-mail from them on the 27th offering their apologies and saying if it hasn't arrived by 31st December that they would offer a refund or replacement.
on the 28th (less than 14 hours after the last e-mail) i received an e-mail with a full refund.
Then i checked the tracking on the Amazon package and it is coming from as far north of Scotland as you can imagine (why when it is so bad up there was i not informed of this?)
and there is a difference in what the tracking on Amazon tells me, and what the RM tracking tells me...
Tracking on Amazon site =

so basically they didn't even have the decency to send it or let me know they couldn't send it.
really poor Amazon, and my e-mails to them are just met with Generic apologies.

Are you sure it's not just Royal Mail's useless tracking system?0
-
or are you sure Royal Mail's sticky fingers haven't been at work here?0
-
Do you think Gourock is as far north as you can get in Scotland?0
-
as i can imagine? yes
google maps showed the north coast of scotland. that to me is as far north as i can imagine, was it on the coast probably not, was it important enough for you to reply, obviously.
to those whose comments pertain to the actual thread of the thread (if you get my drift...)
Amazon have practically admitted it wasn't sent and Royal Mail have told me they had not received the items for shipment.Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone!just doesn't cut it...:think::huh: and these don't come close

Gourock is certainly wild (:p) but most definitely not the north.
As far as I am aware (if this is wrong could someone correct me), Amazon's distribution system works by choosing the warehouse with the most available stock, rather than the one closest to your location. They wouldn't change that for a few weeks of inclement weather.
It may well not be Amazon's fault, or it may be a case of miscommunication. They are a huge company and sometimes mistakes happen. It's unfortunate, but it happens.0 -
So both tracking systems show the same date....RM are notoriously bad for tracking esp when facing a backlog of the sort experienced after the snow at the end of November.
So why did you order presents 9 days before Christmas? Since the backlogs and delays occur every single year due to pressure of work and you ordered two weeks after the first of the snow hit the UK and as a result had ground to a comparative halt - or did you miss that?
Gourock, Invercylde is actually Central Scotland not at all far north as far as these things go.
Oh yes and amazon refunded you in full straight after you emailed them to ask where the goods were (a nice sarcastic email from the tone implied in your post). It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Oh i dno, i know a friend who benefitted greately from the postage delays with amazon this christmas, she asked for a replacement for the camcorder she had ordered, and in the end she ended up with two for the price of one! I dont know weather she is planning to send the replacement one back or not, but neither of them had to be signed for!The opposite of what you know...is also true0

I ordered on the 6th December but the DVDs and CDs didn't arrive until the 22nd, these came from EU s.a.r.l. everything else ordered arrived pretty quickly.
There seems to be a problem particularly with items coming from EU s.a.r.l as you can see here (though I don't know if this applied to the OP)

no, i saved my sarcasm till after their response has !!!!ed me off.
Obviously i have upset some with geographic knowledge of Sweatland. a quick search on Google just showed a northern tip with no surrounds to suggest it was on the west coast. Apologies to all those offended, go get yourselves a deepfried mars bar and chill out.
9 days before was maybe pushng it, but everything else arrived (stuff even ordered on the 20th arrived) except for something from Firebox which is just down the road...Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone!just doesn't cut it...:think::huh: and these don't come close
