  • ....wonder if theres a link to cleanliness and dog allowance?

My parents stayed in a dog hair filled caravan. And they never got rid of the smell. Only a dog lover can love that. May be that's why they don't clean it up.

Believe me, upgrading to a dog free caravan is essential.

Woolacombe Bay and their sister parks can be really skank! :( Yes their are some new caravans if you are lucky but if you're not. The beach is lovely though.

Has anyone ever tried booking 2 caravans on these offers, only ever done one before?
Too many children, too little time!!!
    :p

Yes, I booked my parents' and my caravan at the same park site.
However, it was an option that came once I'd got mine through the offer. I then paid for the 2nd at the same promotional rate, which was good.

We stayed in a bronze caravan at cala gran in sept, and it was filthy. The carpets and upholstery was rank, but the facilities were good, so would book again but upgrade to a silver or gold van:D

Does anyone know what dates these holidays are for yet??
  • We’ve always gone with the SUN at £9.50 pp.
Why is anyone paying more [£10 for standard accommodation] to go with the MAIL? They are the same park sites – in fact it looks like a more limited list for the UK.
I would say to wait for the SUN offer to start this w/e, or book direct with Haven as they have offers on.

Eg £77.50 for Lakeland for 4n in a three bed caravan, 21 March

If you are restricted with dates (school hols like me for example) then these offers are cheaper than booking direct. If you don't have a priority booking code for the sun then you are unlikely to get school hols booking by post.
I may have to pay a few more pounds by booking with the daily mail - but I stand more chance of getting the dates I want.

a lot of people that are booking try and book for when the kids are on school holiday, and if you check the haven sites for school holidays they are way more expensife, but if you do it this way it works out much cheaper.

the sun you are not gaurenteed any of the places, you may get the last two on your list or not bget the dates you want,if you book with the mail you can book online and get your date and park there a and then.

We did this in April 2010 and went to France. It was perfect for us as my friends are from Paris and were getting married just outside. We used the caravan park as a base and visited them for their wedding, Chantilly and Disneyland Paris. For the two of us it cost £120 for five nights incl ferry travel - the ferry was originally looking about £80 so we thought £120 all in was very cheap!

Only problems were that the caravan was freezing cold the first morning and the shower was a bit smelly when we first arrived. Possibly we could have been moved if we'd raised a fuss because the park was half empty tbh.

I recommend searching around for reviews on the caravan park you like the look of before going for it but yeah, was very impressed and will go for it again this year for sure :)
