Hi, first of all what is the difference between a Smartphone and Android?

I would like to buy a new phone which has over 2 megapixels camera with a camera lens cover and a flash. Price range anything upto £200 and either on Virgin or easy to unlock. There are so many out there but none with lens cover and flash that I've seen.

Any advice would be great. :j

  • Smartphone - marketing term for phones that can do a lot more than just make phonecalls. Usually includes emailing and web-browsing

Android - an operating system developed by Google. All Android phones generally count as a smartphone

The lens cover will be tough... heck, the best camera phone i ever had was a Sony Ericsson K800i and it had a cover (http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/1098917/Sony-Ericsson-K800i-Sim-Free-Unlocked-Mobile-Phone/Product.html?ptsl=1&ob=Price&fb=0)

I can't find one with a cover. A lot come with LED flashes.. ideally you want a Xenon flash. The Nokia N8 is probably the closest, but its not too cheap - http://www.nokia.co.uk/find-products/all-phones/nokia-n8

Thanks. I have Sony Ericsson K770i but thought I'd move forward. I don't understand why they don't provide lens cover. The K800i looks good might buy this if I can't find a smart phone at a reasonable price.

For under £200 I would recommend the htc wildfire its got a 5 megapixel camera and is a very good android phone for the price.

It doesn't have a lens cover i think you are going to find it difficult to find one, perhaps you could find a better protective cover for your phone instead?

There's not much difference between a K770 and the K800, both are pushing 5 years old!

Lens covers are rare these days...probably as they are not essential.

have a look at the SE x10 mini and mini pro, both are android smartphone both have a 5MP camera and an LED flash, if I were to guess the picture quality will be better on the SE than the HTC simply because of SE knowladge of cameras.
