Robinson Way Ltd - Sent another persons Info

HI, really not sure where to post this.

I recieved a letter from Robinson way stating i owed an O2 debt to them, as usual I requested proof of said debt.
HOWEVER....they sent me somebody elses credit agreement for a car and for somebody in Bodmin.

Ive contacted Robinson Way but was after advice whether I should contact the Information Commissioner or the press or both.

Advice Please.

I would give them a call and let them know of their mistake.

Then I would probably get on with my life

I contacted them and notified them already.

Thanks for the reply, was just concerned coz they have sent me copies of the persons bank statement, driving license, credit agreement and mortgage details.
Thought this may breach Data Protection Policy.

You didn't mention that in your first post! Then I would probably give the IC a call and see what they think. Sounds like it would be quite a !!!!-up!

IC are closed till after New Year..Grrrr

After phoning Robinson Way at 10.30am I've had 4 calls back from them, proper sucking up and apologising and informing me of updates. LoL it's only 12:30 now.

Yes I am for real and yes they have sent me the info that the other person had requested not what I had requested !

I have copies of it all here.

Can't see how going to the press would solve anything. If you want to take it further then the IC is indeed the way to go. I guess you have no way of knowing whether this was a one-off or evidence of systematic problems at the company.

Don't believe you . Why should they send you back file information they are holding for reference purposes. No company would do that even to the legitimate customer. You are just one of the Trolls that buzz around to try and wind people up.

Swintons sent me insurance paperwork for someone that used to live the other end of my street, I had all their
personal information, Home & work numbers bank details etc.

I phoned the person & they thought the paperwork was taking a while to get to them. Handed the paperwork into
my local office and forgot all about it. The end.

No loss to me. Did you contact the other person & tell them?
