O2 package differences? Also BT fiber and 'line rental'?

I am considering the O2 BB packages. What is the essential difference of their top and middle packages? Would I get lower contention on their top end package?
Am I correct in thinking that BT fiber needs line rental? Can you get infinity with an O2 line?
My current plan is to get O2 line rental for a year and a monthly BB package from O2 until inifinty is available- does this sound reasonable? Am I likely to come unstuck somewhere?

The top O2 LLU package offers Annex M (faster upload at the expense of some download speed) and a fixed IP address. I doubt there is any difference in contention as that isn't mentioned as a benefit.
Infinity requires line rental as the last leg is still copper.
To avoid possible complications if you plan to move over to Infinity I'd personally stick with BT line rental as the O2 savings for that are small, there have been lots of complaints about that side of things (mostly on provisioning though) and last time I looked BT were offering Infinity rental and calls bundles which may well save money when you swap.0 -

Not all Infinity installs are the last leg in copper, mine is in Fibre but I still need the line rental. I think this is only in the FTTP areas. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
If it's FFTP then insisting on a line rental really is taking one!!!
Do they limit yours to 40Mbps like normal Infinity as FTTP could run much much faster?0 -

No, it's currently 100Mbp/s.
The rest of the package is the same. But I suppose you do have to recoupe the cost some how as it is a new install, and I am keeping the old line. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
