Well the morning of my little trip has arrived. I know I'm making a big deal of this, and I honestly don't know why myself. I haven't slept well this evening, and I feel really on edge. I'd even considered backing out and not going-£50 train ticket wasted. How silly!!!

I know I'll be fine once I'm on the train. It's just been a long time since I went anywhere a fair way away, on my own.

    :)

On a more positive note, I'm thinking of taking a home made salad with me, so I don't spend on expensive lunch while I'm there. MSE behaviour is properly ingrained now.

Had a wonderful trip to London, and only spent £9.94-£6.60 of which went on my tube ticket, and £3.34 on an M&S lunch. I saw lots of lovely things, and it proves that my whole mentality has changed since being on the DFW board. Instead of thinking 'oh i really want this, I really want that', then either not buying it and feeling sad, or buying it and feeling guilty, I actually thought well that's nice, I can have these things again when I'm debt free and I have saved up for them. Check me out!!!

And more significantly I was doing some tidying last night and discovered the diary I had written in 2007, when I was first going through the break up with ex. I read some of my thoughts, and the most interesting one was, what I would look for in my ideal man. I found that OH is all these things and more. So really I knew all along what I needed and what I wanted in life, and was merely didn't trust my own instinct for those 10 years.

I have learned therefore, always to be true to myself and to sometimes listen to those voices of doubt or encouragement. Most importantly now I know who me is, and I love it.

I've decided that I will hang onto the diary, and on my debt free date I will burn it, as my debt free date is the final chapter in the 'putting that hell behind me, and growing into a new person' book.

This week I have enjoyed helping my friends, and have felt a warm feeling inside knowing that I can spread a little positivity. Who needs more than that?

what a lovely, lovely post TF.

I totally agree on being true to yourself/trusting your gut whatever you want to call it.

Not doing this has led me to 4 1/2 years of crap when I should have just had the guts to do what I knew was the right thing for me.

    Lesson learned, moving on! :T

I love your comment about spending time with friends and spreading positivity, it is lovely to be sought out among friends for this and I am aiming to get back to this too rather than being a bit gloomy!

If you are a lover of beautiful clothes, I would recommend a trip to the V&A next time you are in London, and the Fashion Museum in Bath (not sure where you are geographically) - like breathing clean, beautiful, fabulous air for free (well, the V&A is free anyway!)

good luck with the rest of your journey, not far away now! x

Had a good day yesterday. Went to the new plot on the allotment and did a whole bunch of digging. Planted blackcurrants, rhubarb, gooseberries and raspberries, mmmmm. It was really good to get back up there again, it really takes my mind off things, and seems like a good honest days labour. Nothing seems to matter when I'm digging the plot.

    Legs are killing this morning!!

Was very disgruntled after starting the mow the lawn yesterday, to discover much cat poo on the lawn. I'm not allowed to have pets at this rented property, yet I end up picking up the neighbours cat poo off my lawn. It's a pain in the backside-leeps over the fence onto our table, containing our seeds and knocks them over, has knocked plant pots over and just the other day, the little zip up greenhouse we have. Grrr.

We can never park near our house because their cars are usually in the way-they have two, and we found out that they can't use their off street parking, because their Ferrarri is kept there. More Grrrrr.

If you're the kind of person who has 4 cats, 2 dogs, a child and three cars, don't buy a 2 bed cottage that has limited parking. The village was so nice before they moved in.

Had my first down moment yesterday for a while. Starting to notice a pattern with this though, seems to be a week before lady time is due.

Determined to have a good day though. Sun is shining and the birds are singing.

I've learned so much in the last two weeks, here are just some of the things.

    1. That positivity and negativity are catching, that one person 'you' can really spread some joy and raise peoples spirits.
    2. That you can be the person who does not walk on by, but actually helps those in need. Have the courage to do it. Last week I saw a man in the street collapsed, with a bottle of some of the pills strewn across the pavement. His eyes were shut, and at first I wasn't sure if he was dead,as it looked like he'd taken an overdose. I saw 5 people walk past him, as I was walking towards him. Well you know I didn't walk on by and I'm glad I didn't. He hadn't taken an overdose, had wet himself and was possible drunk, after leaving the hospital across the road. I was even surprised that a work colleague asked if 'I' was ok and then carried on walking. How sad.

Having my backside kicked this week. Emotionally I'm all over the place, not the best nights sleep, and feel jittery and on edge. Just trying to keep positive, so pretty dress, lipstick and some nice heels are going to be worn today.

I'm fabulous-just keep saying it Thrifty.
