I too am having an issue with a buyer - a collection only item. They bid x& paid immediately only to discover they live in Middlesex - I am in Northern Ireland!
I tried to ind suitable packaging but couldn't so I refunded buyer in full, telling them exactly why. I also informed eBay z& they opened a case so I could get selling fees refunded. Buyer declined, case closed & I'm out of pocket.
I've just contacted eBay again this morning explaining it was buyers fault as no postage or courier was offered. Sent another MSG to buyer explaining it all & asking why they declined the case.

I have recently sold something on ebay, the buyer is unhappy with the product and my description, in fact I received a very curt email form the buyer about it, threatening to report me to ebay.

So I sent a very polite email back saying return item to me for a full refund and postage costs, upon receipt of item.

If a buyer was to contact me saying i'd made a mistake in the listing i would also offer them a full refund, including return postage.

Igamogam sorry if i came across as a tad on the defensive side last night :o i still think that by giving a full refund of what the buyer paid, you would end up being the cost of postage down (the person returning the item would be down this too).

Totally agree that the buyer pretty much holds all the cards.

Although saying that i bought something from ebay about 8 months ago fairly expensive and the seller sent it to the wrong address. The tracking information provided by her just proved this. They sided with the seller, denying my refund  They also refused my appeal. It took over 6 months and a lot of frustrating phonecalls to ebay to get my money refunded which was around about £80, so i wasn't going to just let it go

Right i need to do my 7 listings for this week, it's sunday and i can't put them off any longer!

Eb*y policies/rules are a right PITA. I think its the luck of the draw who you get in CS to sort out problems.

    Happy listing

Sold six items yesterday, including 3 BINs that I wasn't expecting to shift this weekend. Have another 3 items finishing today, all with bids on them, so have had a good couple of days. Will need to make a trip to the post office tomorrow.

Have found a whole lot of OH's old stuff upstairs that he says I can ebay to create some space, so might get started on that this afternoon. Although some of it will probably need to be kept for a FLW.

Thanks to this wonderful thread, I have just had my most successful bunch of sales ever!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a thread/info on good couriers, please?

  • Woot for all those sales today & hope you got some last min bidding wars flacosfloozie

FrugalLina i hardly ever use couriers myself. My first port of call would be parcelmonkey who do a trackable service, (just be careful vat is added later). I hear they have recently signficantly raised their prices though so i'm not sure they are the best value anymore. Here is the link to the MSE parcel discussion thread:

Thanks Sleepless, the thread confused me and I am exhausted after all the parcelling up! I have gone for Parcelforce as I work right next to the PO and can drop it off (mind you, it weighs a ton). Phew, it is worth all this effort though - Paypal bottom line looking mighty healthy. Let's hope everyone is happy.

Will update signature as soon as I have time to tot it all up....may do that sneakily in work later.
