  • Im definitely in on this for 2012! I have more debt than wages I want to pay off this year so looks like eBay is the place to be. I found a lovely little money maker on there just before Christmas but found it too late to take full advantage of it. Still made a nice few £££s though. Im hoping it will carry into the new year with similar items. Just looked up and saw CompletelyLosts' sig- I may aim to make £2012 on ebay this year- it won't pay off debt but will certainly help- would like to make more but that seems like a good target :)

Got a bid on two items I listed yesterday and I have 2 finishing today with bids on (only 99p each though), hoping for a bit more but if not at least it's something and will be good to get rid of some stuff.

Hi CompletelyLost, i was writing a reply when the EA phoned up, we had an offer on our house and we've accepted! so exciting :D

it's £1,900 in a year. I had a notice email saying I was close to my limit and then last friday my account is now limited, that's after i got paid for the items i've sold last week. and will have to wait and see if I can make withdrawals on or after 7th jan.

has anyone else reached their paypal payment limit?
  • ^:j That's great news!

I wonder whether the £1900 limit is for every account, as I'm pretty sure I have received more than that and have never had trouble and have had my account for about eight years.

what do you have to do now that it's limited?
Did you just get a message to say you'd reached a limit, or is it somewhere in your account that shows this limit?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just intrigued! x

Never reached my limit - but Id like too this year! If its £1900... Hope you are able to get your money out soon. Is anyone else just leaving their funds in paypal? I was going to just try and leave them in there - as if I transfer to my current account the money will just get swallowed up.

There's a checklist of what i need to do to lift the limits At the welcome page when you log in, in tiny writing there's, account type, status and view limits. just click on it and it will show how much remaining. Thinking about it now, I think i've gone through this procedure before, i've had mine for over 7 years and mid last year I changed my bank details cos I changed my main bank account. Am wondering if it had to do with that...hmmm

I managed to bank just over £1000 last year and the rest was most probably purchases and ebay fees. Not me sophiasmum, i try and withdraw every month or as soon as i have enough. i don't like my money sitting in paypal acct. it worries me, it might disappear :o
  • ^Thank you.
Seems my account is "Premier" with unlimited payments. I guess I must've reached this limit-thing a while ago and just can't remember...

PS: I always withdraw as soon as I can from Paypal too. Don't see the point in storing it in there, as there's always the temptation to spend it!

Im intending to list tonight! going to do 10 day listings to end them a week sunday..... I find I get better sales that way. I think Im the opposite with leaving my money in paypal - I very rarely purchase on ebay so Im better off leaving my money in there than my bank account!! It goes in my bank account it will def get spent very quickly.....
