The more people who join this challenge the better as I need as much motivation as I can get. I miss mrscmr as she always got me motivated and I always tried (but failed) to beat her listing totals on the free listing weekends.
2012 is the year of not wasting money and getting the debt down.
TMD
Completely agree TMD - mrscmr was a great motivator and she has left us with something to aim for - debt freedom :-)
I'm back into this challenge as I need to clear part of my debt so I can get divorced and move on.
Wishing you all a very happy and successful year for eBay sales.

Hi guys,
I'm going to join this thread and really start to sell things on eBay again. I did this a few years ago and tried to start it as a business but found it so difficult to either buy stock cheaply or find a niche market to make enough profit.
Has anyone ever read the eBay business book by a certain ebayer going by the name of Mollybol?
I still have the book and it gives hints and tips on how to maximise your profit on eBay. He also has a weekly hints and tips email that helps with issues ebayers have. I will post a link to his blog later when I manage to find it
Hi any chance you could post the link for the book by Mollybol please?
Thanks0 -
Ok I am now motivated (well slightly more than before reading this thread!!!
) to get all the stuff that has been sitting in my 'ebay' box(es) for the last almost 2 years and get listing. I have loads of stuff I could sell, only little bits that I hav always thought weren't worth it but you know what, it is worth it. I shall get it all together today and do the obligatory photo session then start listing.
DO you advise only collection for items like bikes? ( or should I put a note on saying I will arrange postage if requestd by buyer and will giv price on request???
Have silver charm bracelet with circa 30 charms on it, all from 60's to 80's: vintage really nice, was my mum's but not sure if ebay s right place for it. WHat do you think?Barclays overdraft £1290

^not sure about anything like the bracelet, especially if it has any sentimental value.
For large items I tend to make it local pickup only, but if you can find a courier who will take them it might be worth quoting a price on your listings as it'll probably generate a better price if you're willing to send it by courier.
I have listed a few things over the past few days... Really need to get back into ebaying, as I didn't do much at all in December. Just hope there is a free listing weekend VERY soon. The last one seems ages ago!0 -
Hi everyone
I am getting married in August this year so any ebay sales will go towards something for the wedding. First goal is enough for the wedding invites, then once they are paid for, any further ebay sales will be for florist or honeymoon spending money!
Just relisted 24 items at 99p & I am praying for a free listing day soon!!
Good luck & lets hope we make lots of money in 2012 :j0 -
8 items listed this evening, one has a bid on already, just did clothing with 99p start prices to get rid of stuff.
More stuff to get listed tomorrow and Thursday, I'm just doing 7 day listings, hopefully can get a few things done every day.
Anyone else listed anything this week?Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Im listing! Wont be able to do any tonight - as zumba ing! but intending to do loads on a 10 day listing tomorrow... Found that worked really well for me last time I did it. Normally do 7 day listings... I did quite well with my items that ended on New Years Day wish I could pack them as I list them (as I am sure I read somewhere that someone does) but unfortunately a lot of my items get bought as multiple purchases and I have to combine postage etc........0

can I join in please? been following this and the decluttering thread to get myself motivated. I did well last year, averaging 25 sold / month and reached my payment limit on paypal to be reset on the 7th.:j but where has it all gone  I blame the grabbit board:rotfl:spent most of my time there last year, so my main goal is to stay away from there and hukd, unless of course there is a glitch
hoping to break that record. and really need to de-junk the house, now it's on the market. hoping to move this year to a 3-bed house. this is the year of selling for me and no buying!
I listed loads 2 weeks ago, started them at 99p. I've posted 10 yesterday and 8 more today. I let the person behind me go first at po cos i feel bad taking so long and holding the queue. normally i'd do 5 at a time but we had the bank holidays and I wanted them posted as soon as the buyer has paid. luckily there's 2 near me and the staff are lovely.
I will be listing everything at 99p now with a very few exceptions. they normally go for more but not as much as I wanted but at least am getting rid of them.
surely it's this weekend, the long-awaited free listing days. the last one was the end of november :eek:0 -
^I never knew that there was a payment limit for receiving money. If you don't mind me asking, what's the amount?
Obviously I haven't reached it yet, lol.
I listed a few more bits on Amazon/ebay/playtrade. Most are either 99p or "BIN" items so not much activity yet, but a fair few watchers.0
