If someone queries whether they can collect an item following other queries in this thread should I insist on cash on collection? I don't want to be stung with a paypal claim... ?0

I've got a buyer trying it on with me.
I had a JLS Scrap book and I sold it to someone for around £6. Anyway, packaged it in bubble wrap and then parcel wrap, sent it off recorded delivery. Then, I get a message today saying that the strap is broken and I'm not a very decent person as I didn't write this in the description, blah blah blah. The strap in the picture is obviously in tact and it was intact when I wrapped it up in bubble wrap.
What happens now? Do I have to give a refund or will it be up to someone else to decide? I don't want to give a refund, the item was in perfect condition when I sent it off. The only reason I could think that it could have broke is if she used scissors to open the package and then accidently caught the strap. What do I do?0 -
Fredula - I had a guy did the same thing to me. I asked him to return the item, and as soon as it arrived back to me, I had to refund him, as well as the return postage. He was a bit cheeky as well, which made me really pi**ed off as I know the thing was fine when I sent it. I know he was at it, but if you value your ratings and want to build them up it is the only way.The customer's always right ( even when you know they are wrong!) And I am talking about me selling off my old junk, not running a shop.Lucky most people are just buying something they want, and are happy with their bargain. Maybe when you get your item back, you could make the start price a wee bit higher to cover the costs you have had to suffer. Don't let it put you off though, it's still a good way to get rid of your junk!Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

How long do you wait before sending an invoice? Since Sunday one person has paid straight away the other hasn't paid yet.0
-
I send an invoice within 15 minutes of finishing normally if I'm home and resend 3 days after if no payment. Some people pay straight away, others seem to wait for the invoice to come and pay then.
I missed the free listing weekend so I've relisted the 4 things that didn't sell on the last one for 99p tonight and one already has a bidder! I'm really keen to get rid of things at the moment and less worried about how much I get, but a bit is a bonus, so pleased with this.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Initially I decided to ask her to post the item back and then I'd give a refund but she asked me to send her postage costs and I didn't know how...and Also I'm going on holiday with work on Friday so I doubt the item would have got to me by then and you've got to issue the payment within 3 days of receiving it and I'd be unable to do that. So she's got her refund and my item.
In her items she selling...It's all JLS stuff *rolls eyes*. Cowbag.0
