    Erm....why not ?

Do you think this doesnt happen ? Argos would be getting their broken stock back....but under a different receipt !

Cant see the problem myself and if you think no-one else does it then you must be a bit [STRIKE]thick[/STRIKE] silly

Just because it happens doesn't mean we should encourage such behaviour. I know mortgage and insurance fraud happens every day, doesn't mean we should advocate it to fellow moneysavers!

You will need a proof of purchase.

Fluffy Go Walkies aren't exclusive to Argos, and unless you have a proof of purchase/the box or anything that proves it was bought from Argos, it is highly unlikely to be exchanged. If you don't have the receipt or bank statement you could use the box (unless you binned it) or if the item still had it's picking ticket (small ticket with coloured tape) somewhere.

    erm no.

Would having the box prove it was sold in Argos?

It is fraud how exactly ?

Argos sold the OP a faulty toy.....the OP will then be returning said faulty toy back to Argos for a refund.

Its not as if im telling her to return the broken toy to a different store now am i ?

Advocating it to fellow moneysavers......god thats just way too funny:rotfl:

I think thats a good idea, all argos will do is take it up with the manufacturer anyway.

What you mean my idea of buying another toy and taking the broken one back on the receipt of the working one ?

Of course its a good idea . Its not as if you are returning a broken toy to Argos which was actually purchased else where !

djb215 works for Argos so of course they are going to find my idea repulsive....best not let them in on any of the other secrets regarding Argos then :rotfl:

Highly likely, most stuff sold from argos has the catalogue number either printed on it or stuck on a label, You should be fine to exchange it if it's faulty with this.
I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

I did the same with a dab radio in tescos: couldn't find the receipt etc and the staff said NO with no box or receipt which was understandable really, however it was a £60 item and only 2 months old and I did have abank statement showing a purchase from them of the correct amount on the date I said I bought it.
So: I bought another identical one swapped it and got a full refund.
Tesco didnt lose anything and happily took the faulty item they had sold back.
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

Hi Louise - in my experience Argos aren't too bad without receipts - if you go in and explain, give them as many details as possible of where and when your brother bought it and see what they say. You may find they'll just do a straight swap. Good luck!

I did this a few years ago in Dixons (now Currys Digital) with no problem.
