Xbox 360 and wpa key

I tried it with ethernet from xbox to router and the green lights on the xbox did go 1 stage further than on wireless, but then came up with
DNS server cant resolve the names of the xbox live servers.
Do you want to manually enter DNS- which is 192.168.0.1 I will see what happens if i put it in

was teh bit about dns on teh xbox, why not set the xbox to automatically get the settings0 -
Solved part of the problem - the telephone extension I was using must not have "done" it properly as a light was still flashing on the router and laptop wouldnt connect either, so just going to find another phone extension lead, otherwise I cant reach the xbox to do it wired, I know it wold be easier maybe to reset the router but last time I did it I had a nightmare.
Thanks for your help (will be about 45 mins got to get oh to go in attic to find it!)

i understand you are reluctant to reset the router but if you dont theres no way to find out the wpa key or to reset unless of course you can remember the wpa or the login settings for the router0 -
We have had the same problem - it won't recognise the codes from the xbox - have reset the router still nothing.
We have now resorted to an old fashioned method of connecting it via home plugs which seem to work.0 -

when you say codes do you mean the settings or something else0
