I'm pretty sure that Car insurance is included in car rental in the state of Florida (a legal requirement for the state).
You wil already have Collision Damage Waiver, etc and won't have to fork out for anything else.
They will try to scare you into paying for a policy to cover you in case you get a flat tyre (sorry, tire...) or your windscreen shatters or someone tries to break into the car or you lose your keys, but that's all the extra insurance is for.
Don't fall for it, I always say (in a very loud voice, so other renters can hear)
"So this extra insurance isn't required by law and only covers me for minor problems like lost keys or a flat tire, is that right?"
They are usually very quick to get you away from the rental counter when you make remarks like that, as it might make other renters question why they are being sold something they don't need.
Also, don't agree to taking the car back empty, tell them you'll fill it up on return.
There's always a gas station within a mile or so of the rental place.
Hope this helps.0 -
:eek:I hope those teens don't have any exams in June
