Virgin Media Query

Ok so I have a few questions.
I'm currently in temporary housing and have been offered a house by my sons great gran. It would be the exact same as a private rent so I obviously need to make sure that I have her permission for anything that needs doing.
She is happy for me to instal virgin media into the property as I'm currently bound in a contract with them but Virgin is not installed in the property only the street.
A man she previously let to (long story he was thrown out after a month) said that VM had to pull up the floors to install cables. After much researching I don't see anything that says this is needed.
My sons dad has VM and it comes through a hole in the wall which is how I assumed it always was.
So what I would like to know is:
1) What do they do to the outside of the property?
2) Do the floors need lifting or would it just be a hole in the wall and cables stapled to the walls (how it is in both my and exs house)?
Thanks in advance

The previous tennant is talking outa his hoop!
1-On the footpath the should be a small plastic or metal cover, called a Toby.If the is a garden wall, the installer will drill thru the toby & wall into the garden.
If the is a garden with grass, they splice the grass & lay the cable in the splice down to a depth of a foot, the cable is covered in Flexi-Duct to protect it.Any concrete has a 2in wide saw cut running to the wall of the house, this is then re-cemented.Slabs & Block Paviers are usually lifted, the cable laid & then the slabs or paviers re-laid.
2-Once the cables reach the house, the grey box, called an ETB,is fixed to the wall,a hole is ran from the inside usually behind the ETB, & internal cable passed out & connected up to the external drop cable.
If it is an on street terrace house with no garden, then usually the cables are ran straight inside & split inside the house, the external cable running up the wall to where it comes into the home is covered with plastic trunking.
3-Inside the house, usually where the cable goes out to the ETB,an Isolator is mounted & a phone point installed. The phone can either be sited next to the isolator or ran to where the old BT point is so any extensions can be connected up.The Telco cable is stapled from the entry point to the phone point on the Skirting board.
4-From the Isolator,an internal CATV cable is ran to the TV &/or modem point. That is clipped with cable clips to the skirting board.Where the cable has to go thru an internal wall,a hole is drilled about 1inch above the skirting for the cable to pass thru.
5-No carpets, flooring, skirting boards ect are removed by the installer.
I started out as an Installer with NTL/Cabletel before moving to service so what I've posted above is correct.
