Just come on here anytime you feel like a drink and we'll take care of the distraction

people i know that have given up smoking put all the money they would have spent on ciggies in a jar - watching the cash grow helps keep motivation going - maybe a non-drinking jar would help for you?0

I've cut back recently rather than stopping totally. I've tried to stop before and always fall off the wagon because of someone's birthday etc. I've been cutting back more for health reasons than the money (I'm too old to handle the hangovers anymore
), but I have noticed a difference in the finances.
To be honest, I don't even miss it that much. We're going to the pub at lunchtime today, but I'll be drinking water. I've just tried to cut out all the "non-essential" drinking like lunchtime pub visits. I know all drinking is non-essential really, but I find that if I still drink at times like friends' birthdays, christmas dos etc, then it's really easy to cut out the other stuff.
I'd try saving the money somewhere (in a savings account where it'll earn interest rather than a jar!). Set yourself a goal for the money, holiday, car, whatever you want to buy. That'll be your incentive.0 -
I gave up the booze because I was sick and tired of waking up feeling....sick and tired. You wont miss it at all very soon0
