    Hey

Well went to Morrisons today and spent £23.75 out the budget i had a £5 off voucher which i used but haven't counted that as im only counting what actual cash i've spent.

I wanted to get some of the 3 for £10 meat packs but it actually worked out cheaper to get mince £2, 2 packs of chicken breasts for £3.20 each than the fancy stuff on the 3 for £10 deal...

I have put the mince straight in the freezer as i already have mince cooking in the slow cooker for tonights tea. I have also followed someone elses suggestion of freezing the chicken breast by putting them on a chopping board and then in the freezer so that once they are frozen i can put them into bags individually. So there is one pack in there just now and the other pack in the fridge to be done when the others are frozen.

We're having mince and potatoes tonight but i was going to use the rest of the mince to make lasagne which could be frozen for OH to take to work for dinners next week.... only problem is am running out of room in the freezer :o does anyone know how long home made lasagne (when i say home made i mean with dolmio sauces) will keep in the freezer for?

I bought carrots, potatoes and an onion to make carrot and potato soup but don't think i should make it today as we already have the mince for dinner and lasagne for 2moro so may make it 2moro. Only problem is i have a terrible habit of buying all the stuff to make things then run out of time to actually do any of it :o

Off to have a read at some of the other threads now

Just back from our Christmas/New Year visit to DD1 in Germany and went out to the sm today to start the new year off again. Have decide to go for an annual budget this year to see if I can even out the spending. On average last year I spent £337 per month but this was skewed by having DD1 home for three months. However i know prices have gone up so am opting to start the year with a budget of £4200 please Mrs M. This averages out at £350 per month but I will adjust as I go on. It will cover all food, drink and toiletries and cleaning materials for me and DH.Good luck everyone -especially the newbies.

First NSD of the year for me today! :T

Had yummy salami and emmental ciabatta (ready to bake) rolls (whoopsied from Sainsbugs) for lunch.

Going to dust off my slow cooker too and attempt to make much more use of it this year. I remember my mum had a really good, easy to follow recipe book when she first had her slow cooker in the 1980s, might have a look at Amaz0n to see if I can get a cheap copy!

Really loving the posts on this thread, truly inspirational! :D

Been to Mr T and got the pack-up stuff plus a few reduced items :money: and some fruit - spent £34-odd so now brings the total to £45.82.

That should be it for the next week or so now, maybe need some more milk but I still have quite a bit in the freezer.

Tea tonight is piri-piri chicken breast (had a lovely food hamper xmas pressie with various herbs/spices in it :D) and cajun HM potato wedges with the free potatoes DD's b/f bought home from work yesterday :j.

  • Another £9.00 today on a gammon joint (£6) and yoghurts (£3). I hadn't intended to venture out to the shops but ds needed a lift to pick his car up so popped my head in after reading about yoghurts and gammon on one of the other threads.

It's a change for me, though, to only leave with the items I went in for.

Ok, back again for a quick post.

Hello to all the newbies joining us! :hello::T

The online order from MrS arrived earlier with nothing missing or changed. As I said yesterday it's really a stock up shop and came to £75.08 in total. Against that I used £50 of N*ct*r points so have added £25.08 to the spreadsheet. I'll update the sig in a minute.

Expecting my bro to arrive any minute so need to get off the 'puter now! :p

Take care all and I'll see you tomorrow evening after being back to work.

Oh, and have a good day back if you're going in to work yourself! :D

    All the best,
