tiny spend today .94 at mra!! did i need the items? nope but there reductions were really good today-old me would have bought loads more. going to try making bread tonight-my recipe says use vinigar(gluten/wheat free recipe) but no other recipes say to do this so think will miss it out :P£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
20,000 step a day challenge0 -
CJJ - re the job thing - DH and I discussed me working [just given up a job as a Dinner Lady] 40% of what I was earning was being spent on petrol!! So I have ben tasked [mutaully agreed] that as long as I can save the rest of the wages each month be that by selling of stuff or coming under budget in other areas [not food as this is the first month of doing this challenge again] then there isn't any need for me to return to work. With what I have sold on Ebay and saved in other areas I am work free until the middle of March!!! You really need to look at what it will cost to work if you are considering part time hours and if it will bring in enough money for your needs. Anyhoo thats my ten pennies worth hehe

I have just made my first order from A&C, I should receive my fruit and veg box this Wednesday. If the taste is worth and the items last for longer, then I will stick to it. I am a bit tired of bland tasteless vegetables that go off within 3 days
I am really excited about this order! :T Since they do not charge my card until they send the order, I am not counting it as a spend (I still can cancel it), so I am still attempting to have a NSD.
I will update my total on Wednesday, when I pay for it. I think I will have £70 until next Tuesday, which I believe is manageable. If I end up buying food on Friday, it will be used for the first week of February, so it might give me a lower total for February :T If everything goes as planned, I might be paying off £250 from my debt next Tuesday so I am really chuffed about that! I was paying the minimum payments everywhere!
EDIT: oops! MrsMcawber, I hope I have not posted in the middle of your list! What's the list for?Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

PennyGrabber wrote: »Bit of a crisis now in the PennyGrabber household. BF left today, so I'm now down to a part-time wage with full-time bills...
May make 2011 a touch tricky, but at least I can do overtime occasionally with this job. Will need to rethink the job situation, but can't start a new job til Sept, as I'm a teacher, and really I need to work at the school where my children are, as otherwise it's just too hard. I'm currently TAing there, taking a year out of the stress, apparently. Don't think there's less stress now though!
Still, I'm determined 2011 is going to be my year, I've had quite a few @@@@ years in a row now, so it's got to be my turn for a good one now!!
ps sorry for venting at you all, my virtual friends! x
PennyGrabber - sending positive thoughts your way.;)Pretty good and on the plus side after a very sad week of worry- I HAVE A NEW JOB!!!!!!!I start next week and am really pleased. I am happy because although the job I was doing was on paper a "good job" I absolutely hated it and the stress of it made my illness worse. So everything is back to normal once again
XX
Mothership - thanks for all your lovely posts, they make fab reading.:)
A NSD for me today, just as well as only £1.35 left but don't NEED anything so I'm staying away from the shops.:o
Dinner tonight is a Curry using the leftover Beef from last night's Roast.
Off to dish up shortly so have a good evening everyone.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

So if, in a book, you mention this thread (and any of the specific tips), you have to clearly state that people were sharing them on here, and not to you personally. Of course you will have your own wealth of knowledge/tips gained aside from this thread and that is yours to do with as you wish. Just a thought
.
Anything you write yourself is yours, it does not belong to MSE. I wont be specifically quoting any tips, but I can say how I've personally benefitted from taking part in the challenge. And possibly point people in the direction of MSE and let them discover it for themselves. I could not possibly write everything that is good about this site I'd need a weekly magazine LOL. This site is somewhere to go if you need help/support/ encouragement, thats why we are all here. I am happy to share with everyone what I do to get by, all my tips, and there is lots of those still to come, lots of experience to share.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
