Mothership I completely agree with every thing everyone has said. :T:T:T You have done brilliantly and we all feel a need to stock up now and again especially if we find something that really is too good a price to leave.
The trick is to make the adjustments where you see fit. We support each other but we each have our own personal challenge. I think the fact that you have beaten the food waste habit in only one month deserves a medal. :A And look at the fantastic recipes you have shared with us, scrumptious! You just keep on keeping on with us and we'll all get there in our own ways knowing that others are there to help when needed.
Lotti, what is AF? I thought it was Approved Foods until I looked at your sig and then just got puzzled!
Yay!!! Well done Gracie! :T:T:T
Rosieben that looks droolicious! I called OH in to take a look and I think we'll be having this sooner rather than later!
Sparklyfairy £50 per week is not a bad amount and if you need to adjust now and then that's fine. And you'll have two reduction targets! :rotfl:
Nessie, hi and welcome! Good luck with your challenge, you've come to the right place for support and inspiration. :T (That also goes for any other newbie I may have missed too :hello:)
:grouphug: for you minnie. It's a very long month and probably the hardest of the year. That's a brilliant tally of NSD and your budget is still looking very healthy. Keep your chin up and if it's too heavy just come on here and have a moan. We don't mind, honest.:grouphug:
Ok, another NSD here for us. I wish my bank account reflected it though! So glad I decided to use vouchers and points this month otherwise we'd be in deep doodoo. I miscalculated the timing when I bought our joint present (new stereo, after Christmas to take advantage of the sales) put it on the Amex thinking it would come out in Feb and it's not so going to be very very tight. Ouch!
Right I must away as I think that's enough of an essay for this evening!
Do take care and remember that you are doing this for peace of mind so don't ever let the challenge take you over - YOU are in control.
See you tomorrow,
Spigs
thanks!!! im hoping im just having a down day - work was hectic!

well chuffed with my new efforts at not going shopping. However i did nip to the village store for some anchovies n cream. Did a lovely tea from Jamie oliver. Dauphinoise potatoes n mustard chicken. Didn't bother with pud cause didn't have the ingredients. Must say really enjoyed makin it and it turned out really well. Way to many potatoes though so we are having them tomorrow with gammon. I am really enjoying the challenge of using what i got in. I am also getting to spot a reduced label at 100 paces!! haha. If its freezable and we use it, its mine!
Keep up all the chat. this is becoming addictive0 -
Mmm, yummy hot chocolate!
While I think of it, can you all keep a look out to see if corned beef is ever on offer? Ages ago (and I mean ages!) I bought the 3-packs of the smaller tins in a*da, and got loads, but I've only got a couple left, so I need to stock up. I've been looking for a while now, but don't go into all of the sms, so if you happen to go down that aisle, could you please have a look for me? Thanks!!

spiggle "AF" means "Alcohol Free" - I've been aiming for 28/31 days off the sauce, as it were, for Jan. Much cheaper!! And, according to Mr Lotti, makes me much less of a b***h, so will not be returning to drinking quite so much I must say. Started it for a variety of reasons, health etc, and moodiness...“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

If anyone can remember i would be very grateful. Thanks x
It was me. The shop is called factory foods, and is on the Hellaby Industrial estate just off junction 1 on the M18. I have had many a bargain. Best thing is to make yourself a member and then go on a Fri/Sat/Sun when they have their best offers on. Membership is currently free, or you can become just a day member to try it. Some of their stock is similar to approved food, but they have a lot of frozen food.
I need to do a bit of a tally up. Did a small shop today for £12. Think i have about a tenner left for all the things i need, so i plan to not shop again until next week. DH is away working over the weekend so i might manage this if the kids aren't complete fruit bats. I'd put some apples in the fridge as they were keeping better, and they have discovered where.0 -
Also, on a more GC note, issued Mr Lotti with instructions that today is "eat up the leftovers" day as we had so much cooked food in the fridge! So, no shopping untill tomorrow, eeking out the budget as have lots of cleaning bits and new boot brushes to buy. Think we have the cash to buy him some nice beer tomorrow too! (And all the bits I want, obv...:rotfl:)“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Ooh I WISH I lived up north (I'm in the Midlands)...you all up north always get the best shoppes! (Netto started there, AF, Home Bargains, etc) You all are lucky things!0
