Took DD2 to Morr, ended up getting loads of fruit and veg, and one of the half price pork joints (cooked it last night for dinner). Got half of it left will use it for a stir fry for Thursday.
Got DD1 4 bags of fruit and veg, didn't have the heart to take the money from her, also got DD2 B1G1F Coke @ £3.95.
So about 2/3 rd of the spend wasn't for me.
Got a M+S Scottish Steak pie for tonight's dinner, having boiled potatoes and cabbage with that.
The family are all coming for dinner on Friday making a curry (2 kinds Lamb and Chicken).
Both fridges are full, and cupboards bursting at the seams, got plenty of flour so will make bread if I run out, so should just need milk for the rest of the month.
I'm delighted the freezer stock is going down, making sure that everything gets used up. Replacing it with new stock.
I've got a feeling I might go over budget this month, forgot to take into account that Jan is a M+S stock up month for me ( I use my £5 off £25) spends. There's a few weeks vouchers left, If I use them it will take my budget at least £100 over. If I do use them with the offers that will equate to around £180 worth of food.
I usually don't stick to a budget at all, (just spend willy nilly).
The discipline of taking part in this challenge has really helped me stop wasting food. I haven't thrown ANYTHING out since I took it up.
I'm thinking if I do go over budget I will carry the overspend forward to next month, as once the freezers are full, we wont need any meat purchases.

Well I have spent £287.16 of a £300 budget. I have only £12.84 to last till the end of coming Monday. I am really hoping I can do this! Need milk, fruit and cheese. If husband likes the tortilla wraps I made last night and have put into his lunch box today I shall not buy bread! It will be pancakes and wraps all the way! New month starts next Wednesday but Tuesday comes out of celebrations budget (DH birthday!).
Onwards and upwards!0 -

Don't be silly! And don't be so hard on yourself! It is a massive achievement still having a handle on how much you are spending, especially if as you say you didn't stick to a budget at all before starting this. Congrats in order I think! :T:T:T
And if you have been keeping an eye on the budget, you can adjust it next month accordingly, or aim for the same and see how you do!
(I think mine might be going up with jumping off the AF wagon again...):rotfl::rotfl:“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

You haven't let anyone down, you've made huge changes in the way you think about shopping etc and that's an achievement to be proud of :T I think getting a grip on not wasting food is one of the most important things so well done!

I'm back from my hols and still trying to catch up on all these posts! Hit the boots sale today so that's all my presents for the whole year bought used vouchers and points to pay for some and only £64 for the rest. Then went to superdrug for my toothpaste and toothbrush free with the mirror. Best of all tried the co-op for the reduced champagne in the email and my store had it. Hiedsieck silver top is around £31.99 normally and I got 6 bottles at £9 each. What a day! Now back to catch up on your posts."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
