    Hi All

I'm back from my Christmas break and am ready to face 2011 head on!!!:D

I'm aiming for an annual budget of £1620, which breaks down as £135 a month. I'm hoping that I will come under this, but am giving myself some leeway in case of birthday meals out etc. That will mean that if I go over one month, I will need to come under another month to ensure I don't exceed my annual target. It's a wholly manageable limit for me, so I'll set that. :o:D

So, for January (from the 1st - 31st Jan) can I please be put down for £135

  • Hi,
I haven't tried the GC before, but I'm hoping it will help me avoid those annoying small extra spends. I'm going for £150 pm (1800 py) for 2 adults, one teen and 2 cats. We are all veggie (except the cats:D) so this should be just about doable. Sorry I couldn't find the red text button.
    Good luck everyone!
  • Can I join too? I'm a complete moneysaving newbie leaving the comfort of a regular job to be self-employed at the start of Jan. Am terrified it will be a financial disaster!
Definitely need to rein in our grocery spending.

I'm going to aim for £350a month please!

Thanks and good luck to everybody!!
  • Hi Can you put me down for £250 for Jan. I have tried to do this before and failed but we have a big holiday planned for later in the year and need to keep spending down to pay for it. Also have had Jan money since before Xmas and it is dwindling and not even in jan yet!

    Wish me luck folks.

    Evening Everyone:wave:

We have decided to try and lower our budget for 2011. Mrs MC could you put a budget of £1500 please This works out at £125 per month, but means that i can take advantage of special offers and then the cost would be spread out over a few months IYKWIM
This is for me, OH and our 2 cats.
This is also to include all groceries, cleaning products, alcohol and cat food etc.

Nice to see some of the regular posters and also some new names.:)

Well, another year, another dollar and I'm starting as I DEFINITELY MEAN TO GO ON THIS YEAR :rotfl:

I know my previous attempts have been sporadic - some good, some rubbish, but I have just done a stock-take of last year's spending and realised that we are still living as if we had two big wages coming in regularly whereas now there's only me getting paid on the same day each month and DH who probably still earns more than me, but it's not every month. He is a self-employed electrician, and can earn THOUSANDS one month and practically NOTHING the next, making budgeting rather difficult! We are not in debt, thank God, but our savings will dwindle if we carry on like this.

Add to this DS is going to university in September so I want to have some money put by to get him started with that.

Please would you put me down for £340 this month. I know you old hands probably think that sounds like masses, but that's for everything, and if I can save any money out of it, then I will, and put it in the pot for DS.

    Thank you dear ladies!
