Best you can do is get 10% off using the promotional code SAVE10
  • thanks, I nearly got excited when I did a search and came up with 50% off.... but then saw the date of the link!
  • I believe that you can buy a three year railcard for £65 as well (it's £26 for one year otherwise). Not sure if the 10% code would work with that but you can try.

If your daughter is at university then get a natwest student account and you'll get one free.

the railcard from Natwest lasts for 4 years - even if course is 3 years!!
automatically renews as well - I wish I'd taken more train trips ;)
Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date :o:D
now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!
  • I paid for a railcard as I really didn't go with Natwest, I've had so many friends who've had problems with the customer service when they've needed some help that a lot have told all their brothers and sisters never to do it :o I think you have to pay your student loan money into that account so you can't just open it and put the money elsewhere.

You do get great saving from a railcard, I've got a one year one but haven't even used it yet!
  • thank you all, I didn't realise the Natwest one was still going. Will definitely take a look!
  • hmm just had a look and although it mentions it in a google search, there is no mention once I actually enter the Natwest site... does anyone have a link?

That doesn't mean that you actually have to use the account.

Natwest are notorious for poor customer service, so when I got mine, I just kept the Natwest student account open to make sure I got the Railcard each year, and used a proper bank for actual bank account.

It's not - they only tend to offer it between June and October each year. Only available to those people at university.
