Leaving O2 My options??

Hi,

Can anyone recommend me a good ISP. I have been with o2 since April and as of 6th December they have switched my package over without telling me to a new package which is capped at 20 GB per month and they cant reverse it. I was looking at sky but I cannot get their unlimited package as i am offnet. Also, I am looking for an ISP that doesnt have a FUP any out there?

Thanks.

All depends what is available LLU on your exchange. Do an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com.

  • are u in contract still, u might not be able to leave till april then??

have you argued that because you`ve been switched to a worse package at their mistake you should be compensated, say by giving you the next package up at the same price ???

Why did they change your package?

O2 have done the same to me! I originally signed up to the Access (I know, but it's all I can get in my area) Unlimited package, I had a phone call just before Xmas from a very rude Glaswegian woman telling me that I had exceeded my limit. But I'm on unlimited I said. "No your not" said this woman " you're on a 40 Gb limit" So O2 have changed my contract without telling me and this woman said that if I exceeded this limit in Jan they would terminate my contract.
I phoned O2 back the following day and spoke to a very nice polite Irish chap who told me that I was lucky to be on the 40 gig contract as the new contracts are only 20 gig! He seemed very eager to get me to cancel my Broadband and I said that was only because he could sell my BB twice on 20 gig and get twice the income!! Also, if they cancel my contract, as I have an O2 phone line I will have to pay £62.50 to get out of that contract.
Why oh why do ISP's give people faster internet access and then reduce the amount you can use it!! It's about time that the ISP's are told that it will be illegal to sell something as 'unlimited' when it is obviously not. Unlimited should mean exactly that, unlimited! IMHO O2 were the best ISP I have ever used. Now they are just rubbish!!
P.S Now starts the big search for a decent ISP if there is such a beast!!!!

If you are on 02 Access, you should be grateful if they do terminate your contract, as then you can move to a better service without penalty.
