i decided, after discussing on here before christmas, not to sell anything i dont think will sell for £10+ and send everything recorded now too (75p extra i believe) its a good job i did as last week i had someone try it on with a £47 item saying it hadn't been recieved, i sent them ref. no and track n trace details and haven't heard from them since!!
Aw, thanks misskaytee. When I started ebaying in earnest last year I had a nightmare scenario where I sent a package to Canada and, even though the buyer acknowledged it was being processed by customs, she was unhappy it was taking so long so filed an item not received dispute - and won, because I couldn't prove she'd received it. It was delivered the next day. I lodged my appeal with ebay straight away, and they said they'd get back to me by 4Nov. They still haven't
So now I sell through OH's account and the rule is, no posting outside of the EU.
It really is awful, like you say, when you take pride in what you're doing and people just stomp all over it :mad:Debt-free & saving for the next big adventure

You should chase eBay on that one. There used to be a counterclaim on PayPal (it must still be there) were you can claim back again once the claim has gone through to say their claim was fraudulent if they were lying, it might work if you now have proof they have received the item. Try eBay first though as they are more often on the seller side, and PayPal the buyers side
Don't let one international bad experience put you off - there are over 58 million users on eBay and just selling to UK bidders is missing most of them. You will always get one or two bad bidders but its just the same in the UK. Last night I sold 4 items and 3 of those were outside the UK - thats money I would not have if I only let UK bidders inNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -

Thanks Jesa. I posted a long and involved thread about this on the eBay board as it was happening. I'm basically at a standstill now because ebay are considering my case, but even though they were due to get back to me 72hours after I filed it, we're now 3 months down the line with no word from them. Paypal won't talk to me because the dispute was filed with ebay. Ebay.com won't talk to me because I'm in the UK. Ebay.co.uk won't talk to me because the dispute was filed with ebay.com. The online support at ebay.com can't help because it's a 'closed case', and told me all I could do was email them. I've sent around 10 emails to the email address they provided, all of which have gone unanswered. I'm at a complete loss.
The saving grace is that I've never paid the money back whenever ebay invoices me for it - it's around £100 that there's NO WAY I'm losing when she got the item! I figure if they want to shut my account for that then at least I'll be able to appeal and this time they might pay attention. If not, I'll happily start again. What makes me maddest is that the buyer got away with despicable behaviour and ebay backed him.Don't let one international bad experience put you off - there are over 58 million users on eBay and just selling to UK bidders is missing most of them. I know that you're right and that was totally my feeling prior to this. This whole thing was such a nightmare, I swore off ebay forever, so I'm feeling positive being back at all. Baby steps.
Sorry for the hijack!Debt-free & saving for the next big adventure

Sounds like a complete nightmare for you and you are probably right to let them close your account and start afresh if you can.
I had one nightmare person a couple of years ago and then decided not to let him get to me. Its hard when you are doing it for a business, especially for a charity like I do because no matter what you want to say to these people you always have to be nice. That can be very frustrating because the customer is not always right. And occassionally very rude when a polite email would suffice
Don't let them get you down chick :beer:Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
