I've just bought this Lenovo laptop at Comet, reduced from £499.99 to £299 for my dh (who will use it for emails, to do internet banking and a bit of word processing etc). It looks goods very good for the money , so much so that my daughter (who has been humming and hahing about replacing her antiquated laptop for ages) has just rushed out to get one too!

lenovo are brilliant. £499 seems a bit much for a dual core(i got an i3 with 3 year warranty a few months ago for <£400) but lenovo are brilliant laptops, much better quality than even sony/macLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0

I got this one from Tesco Direct about 4 weeks ago. I used Tesco Rewards under the doubling up offer so used £200 of vouchers against a £399.00 laptop ( same laptop). And £13.52 Quidco. So Tesco gave me £13.52 to take it away. Keyboard a but noisy and speakers a bit quiet but otherwise brilliant.0

Excellent price for a very well spec'ed general purpose laptop.
It won't run games well (as the graphics chipset is only an Intel x4500m), but in all other respects it's a perfectly adequate machine.
Numeric keypad on a 15" laptop is an interesting feature - not sure if that'll result in the rest of the keyboard being too small.
Oh, don't forget the 'Dual Core' T4x00 series of Core2 processors have the Virtualization instruction set (VT-x) disabled. Won't affect most people, but would be a rude surprise to anyone needing it.
Only one warning - Make sure the machine they send you matches the spec. they are advertising.
In particular make sure it has:
- A 6 cell battery (~5 hours run time), rather than a cheaper 4 cell.
- HDMI out.0 -
Ditto what last op said as this machine is also for sale with Co-Op Electrical same model etc but if you look at the spec closely it has a slower processorA home is not a home ..... without a dog

I bought one of these today, but haven't opened it yet, as I'm moving in a couple of days.
It does say on the side of the box that the battery is a 6 cell one.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Can't get it to deliver to Northern Ireland and I can't find any stores here to go into. If there are any other laptop deals please post them as I've had it up to here with PC World and Currys for their ignorant and unhelpful staff, so much so that the belated Xmas pressie from DH is even more belated as I won't let him buy from there.0
