Cheap calls to India from T-Mobile UK
Hi Guys,
I'm looking to make cheap calls to India. Was looking around and found this expatforum.com/international-calls-using-t-mobile
It says calls to India (Landline and Mobile) are 3p/min, all I have to do is dial 290371 followed by the Indian number.
Has anyone tried this service before? Is it any good? I don't want to make the call and find out later that all my credit is gone.
Any assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks

You are better off getting a cheap spare phone and a Lebara Sim Card and make cheap international calls (2p to mobiles in India and 1p to landlines)

It says "Promotion ends 4th January 2011"
What will it be afterwards?0 -

It would help if you explained what you were referring to. As it is, I have looked and you mean the Mobile Internet offer from Lebara. Something that is nothing to do with making calls to India.
What happens to the mobile internet offer after 4th Jan 2011 - I do not know but it won't affect the calling plan charges as far as I can tell.0 -
I don't care much for mobile internet. What I meant was it's 2p/1p up until 4th of Jan right? So what will the charges be afterwards?0

If you are able to have an online account and top-up using a credit/debit card, Lycatalk and Localphone are cheaper options to call India. You will have local access landline numbers which can come out of your minutes allowance.0

Presumable you mean a VOIP system or dial through system, free if you have data or minutes, no so free if you have a PAYG mobile with no inclusive minutes or data.
Even with some VOIP systems calling a real phone still costs money ie the Skype out, the only really free way is PC to PC via Skype. Anything that involves sending it to a real phone has a cost with it somewhere, although it may or may not be covered by bundles you already have in place.0 -
icardmobile, a PAYG service that works on the vodafone network, offers calls to India for 1p/min landline and 1p/min mobile.
Frogmella, love, you could come across a little sexist and patronising to some people using love like that, so best avoid it on these forums. :heart2:0 -

I was deliberately being sexist/patronising to the spammer poster Sallyroth. I have nothing against new posters but when they are so obvious in their spamming then i do my best to make sure they don't return again. Or do you think new posters should be freely allowed to prostitute their websites?0 -
Many providers offer rates as low as 0.5p per minute for calls to India using a mobile phone. Some PAYG providers that I came across are:
iCardmobile.co.uk
Lebara-mobile.co.uk UK
Lycamobile.co.uk
Nowmobile.co.uk
VectoneMobile.co.uk
They also have the cheapest PAYG rates for calling UK numbers.0
