I'm actually getting Sky installed today, after living with limited freeview channels for the past few months. :j

Part of the reason is that I've been trying to pick up my freeview channels with a set top ariel, which has now bust. I had to keep twiddling the thing, every time I changed channels. Not always successfully.
So it was either pay for an ariel man to install an ariel, or get Sky, so I chose a special offer with the latter.0 -

A properly fitted aerial would have cost around £100, that is a one off payment.
Sky is ongoing payments.

So less than 5 months payments to Sky would cost more than an aerial. 12m minimum sub will cost around £240-that's £140 more than an aerial. Not very money-saving.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
